I don't think he'd create all that unnecessary work for himself. Even just leaking we were interested in Schottenheimer brought about that response. Jerry and Stephen are both incredibly lazy when it comes to GM work. They actively find ways not to do the work. This is serious.
I wouldn’t be a bit surprised if they are getting input from Jimmy or someone else. That’s what Jerry does. Listens to people he trust. Probably on the phone with Larry Lacewell’s grandson as we speak!…..

Do not forget we will also likely bring in Anthony Lynn too. No worries there.

Think about it... Jerry forced Kellen on Mike to make sure Dak was comfortable. Now just a few years later, he's interviewing the guy who helped replace Kellen for HC to keep Dak comfortable.

I know plenty hate Mike, but at least he was an outsider who had won a Super Bowl and coached a perennial contender. It made sense. This time it's all about Jerry and Dak being as comfortable as possible. Not even an attempt to talk to the best candidates: Belichick (pre UNC), Vrabel, or Ben Johnson.

Jerry is just chasing his tail... with as little effort as possible.

Why fly anyone in when you can just hire guys that live in Frisco?

This is a total clown show
Private flights are expensive, don't you know? Maybe they could have some group Zoom interviews?

Let me guess, they knew his dad in someway and are convinced Brian could be their Garrett 2.0...
Or they think Brian is Marty.

It's probably from Rex Ryan, big mouth can't even get an interview because he started a public fight with Micah a month ago, thinking McCarthy was coming back, lol

Dak’s timeline to return is around training camp.

No. It means we are going to scare you so much with Schottenheimer that you'll be more willing to accept Moore.

Good point. Whenever I see someone provide one of the top 2 most productive offenses in the league over a several year period with Dak Prescott as his QB, I think this guy sucks.
What surprised me was Jimmy johnson saying on fox the other day that Schottenheimer and Kellen Moore would be the way to go because they know dak and have worked with him. He went on to say that with Jerry, you never know.

11 of 14 years as a offensive coordinator, Brian Schottenheimer offenses has been no better than the bottom half of the NFL.
But he has Dak now there’s no place to go but up

Why widen your search... with a guy you've always been able to interview ... but only now have decided to interview.

I would understand interviewing him maybe for OC if you've decided that Frazier or Saleh.

I don't understand interviewing him for HC. This is hard to figure.
Backup plan? Maybe HE asked for a chance, who knows? My question is if you were that impressed with him why the wait? I still think he's more of a coordinator if Jerry hires a defensive coach ( Saleh ). Also, remember he MM OC only in name. MM used his own playbook and called his plays. So what does Schotty's playbook look like? Jerry may have the same question.
