Randle and DMC could play today if there was a regular season game scheduled.

Randle? Very likely. McFadden? Nothing can be assumed with that guy. People covering the team put his Saturday practice at 40%.

It most certainly is. I'm guilty as charged. But if we didn't, there would be far less to talk about! Again, I give credit to the front office for getting sooooo much right these past several years.

This is just one instance where I completely disagree with their chosen course of action.

Just think, if it weren't for our RB situation what would there be to talk about?

This is the exact reason I wanted Dez signed. Imagine what this place would be like then if we didn't get that deal done.

Why not just give the guys we have more time in the game? Then we will know if they are worth keeping.

All two of them? Say one of those two gets hurt (which based on recent events is quite likely)?

Do you run the one remaining guy into the ground?

Do you shift to pass happy and risk someone else getting hurt or losing valuable evaluation because you're one-dimensional?

I think they have to add another guy just to handle those meaningless, clock-running, fourth quarter carries.

Oh, it would be UGLY!

:omg:

And with my typical demeanor, people would have to talk me off the ledge!

(or onto the pavement for some!)

They could sign someone today like ex-Saints RB Pierre Thomas who won't know the plays or blocking schemes by Thursday which could risk other injuries.

Sign him and don't play him Thursday. They're following that 'plan' with everyone they have now, so why not? At least you'll have somebody some Friday!

Yeah, saw that 'great news' this morning. I'm glad that the Cards know how to fill their needs...

:(

Well don't feel to bad they said he won't have a significant role which further clarifies why he is still out there. They can have him let our team bring in Ball, West, or some other young vet.

I still think he's better than certain other players we're counting on.

(who shall remain nameless...)

Yeah, they need a body to get them through because two inexperienced guys may not be enough.

What is the point you're trying to make?

I'm not saying that they shouldn't sign someone for the long run. I just don't think they should sign someone just to have a warm body for Thursday's game.

I think they might need one. I'm expecting that they sign somebody, even if it's just to get through that game and cover themselves for another injury.

Cowboys VP Stephen Jones is leaving the door open for the team to add a free agent running back if needed.

It's perhaps worth noting that Joseph Randle fumbled in team drills in front of reporters in Wednesday's practice. Darren McFadden (hamstring) remains on the shelf, and Lance Dunbar recently needed X-rays on his ankle. "We would have liked to have added a young running back to that group," said Jones. "The situation didn't present itself in the draft, so we didn't get that done. We probably missed out there. ... There's backs out there that I think still have some gas left in their tank, and if we need to go get one, we'll go get one."

Thanks for finally noticing the dire situation SJ and JJ.....

I find it amusing, Murray was injury prone and fumbled too much, now before the 1st PS game all the backs we kept have injuries !! lol
and Randle also fumbled in the scrimmage on goal line. so that makes 2
I wonder if between the backs we have there will be more than the 6 fumbles of last year, and I think this year we see what "real" injury prone is.
