The Cowboys will start someone that is currently on the roster regardless to begin the season so that is why it doesn't really matter.

Come on down Tyler Clutts. Hey, anyone can get 1500 yards behind this line.

He could very well be absolutely wrong and it sure won't be the first time. We'll know more after Thurs. nites game I hope. Then
we can all re-convene and gripe all over again.

Thursday won't tell us much. Unless Gus Johnson runs wild over 2nd and 3rd stringers.

I doubt Can't Handle Randle, Dunnothing or McNugget will play.

We're both singing in the same choir though I don't think the Jones family is listening. They kept Ryan Williams around for a year and a half
on suspect knees while they though he might be able to play. They are going to at least see if run DMC is made of crushed glass or Noritake
china.

Yeah, they're sure not listening to us! Or anyone else apparently.

They've done a great job lately and I give them tons of credit, but one this subject, I think they're just flat out wrong.

Just my opinions:

Option 1: Call Johnson's agent and get in on the action and see what his asking price is. Unfortunately, because the Cowboys waited, he now looks to have a market and that will cost more.

Option 2: Bring another vet back into camp. They worked out Ben Tate a few months ago, if he's still in shape, bring him to camp and at least have another option on the roster.

Option 3: Call around and inquire about trading for a young back with some chance to be a starter. Montee Ball is my first choice, but I would call the Jets about Zac Stacy too.

What I would not do is sit on my hands waiting for the next injury to happen to one of these guys. These injuries are minor, but they should be a wake-up call. They aren't devastating now, but during the season they could be.

I would do exactly what you said you would not. You even admit the injuries are minor so why panic? Let the young guys get the reps and prove what they can do. There will be plenty of RBs available for free after final cuts or for very cheap just before final cuts are announced. Just sit back, be patient, and a good opportunity will present itself before week 1. Veteran RBs can easily come in and be ready to play in a few days, especially if they are going to be splitting time. Jumping the gun and signing Tate or Johnson now will result in a big regret once much better RBs become available later. Trying to trade now will cost an arm and a leg. Let the system play out and wait for the buyers market to get here.

Even if that person proves unreliable and not up to the task? Again, not a great plan.

Gus "The Bus" Johnson led into the hole by Tyler "The Clutch" Clutts!!! Sound like a remake of the 93 Cowboys team.

You know, as sad as it is, the Bus is probably our best running back right now. With the Clutch as our backup.

The 'panic' comes from the fact that none of the options the team is currently counting on has shown to be up to the task. Even if Randle shows he's capable, there is zero in terms of a dependable backup. Even if we make that one huge assumption, there's nobody behind him that's shown to be in any way dependable.

And any decent option will be on another team and you''ll be trying to find the best smelling turd.

This talk of veterans being ready in a few days reeks of arrogance. I find any talk of a "buyer's market" to be ignorant of the facts.

Such a sad shame that Jerry will not hire us (for big bucks) as GM's to manage this team for its championship run. Oh well,
wait for next year. Tony gets younger each and every year and soon he will claim Jack Benny status, man.

It is a shame, you should see my GM work in Madden! Championship after championship!

That's what I'm talking about. Maybe we should send an email to Will McClay to give us a call. I smell a championship!

I think he'd ignore it because he's scared that we would take his job!

I've been saying we need to trade for Christine Michael. He's a young, powerful back with many years left on him and would excel in our offense behind this O-Line.

I hear he's dumb as a bag of sticks but I would give a 4 or lower for him.

They won't prove that until the season starts anyways.

You can say McFadden is not reliable but none of them will prove they are not up to the task between now and the Giants game.

In my opinion, if they're not out there, they're proving it. The most important ability is availability.

Dunbar's injury may be a minor one. But it's something to be considered for a specialty back who will never be a starter, as it is not the first time he's missed due to injury.

Randle may be perfectly fine and practice today, but the mere fact that the team is without its' top three options should be a wake-up call that they should increase their number of viable options.

I can agree, but that from a fans perspective. Without knowing what the FO is thinking it's easy to second guess.

Ok well Dez, Scandrick, and others are proving they are unreliable as well.

This is a loooong month and it seems like Dallas is being overly careful with any little injury these guys get.

It most certainly is. I'm guilty as charged. But if we didn't, there would be far less to talk about! Again, I give credit to the front office for getting sooooo much right these past several years.

This is just one instance where I completely disagree with their chosen course of action.
