Now.. to tag onto where my mind was yesterday...

Now Randle no longer can view his RB competition as an ol has been that probably won't last 6 games (aka chill mode)

Randle now has a shift bruiser comparable in age to him that will instantly push him either to work harder or move aside.

LOVE IT!!!

Competition "always" makes you stronger.

This was a good pickup for depth. This guy is very powerful and has some decent speed as well. I think given the circumstances it was an excellent pick up. We shouldn't have been in this position to begin with but I feel a lot better about our running game now.

I thought Broaddus said the Cowboys had Michael off their draft board because he was a head case or something. He and Mickey Spagnola shot this acquisition all the way down yesterday. Oh well....

This is the perfect move for this team. He fills out the RBBC perfectly.

Any injury questions from DMC or porduction questions from Randle are lessened.

Michael can thump and is another proven vet. Great move.

I would keep all 4 RBs and drop a TE or DT

The first notable move of Sunday was a fairly predictable one. Per Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Cowboys have added running backChristine Michael in a trade with the Seahawks.

The cost is a conditional draft pick. The move makes sense for both teams because the Cowboys need running back help and the Seahawks added veteran Fred Jackson late last week after he was cut by the Bills.

A late second-round pick in 2013, the 220-pound Michael was never more than a part-time contributor for the Seahawks. He played in 14 games over the last two seasons, carrying the ball 52 times at an average of 4.9 yards per carry.

Rumors throughout the last week had linked the Cowboys to other backs potentially available for trade such as Montee Ball of the Broncos and Terrance West of the Browns. The Cowboys kept three running backs Saturday when they cut their roster to 53: Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar.

Shefter at nfl.com says Albert Breer was the source for the price being a conditional 7th rounder.

But Michael played sparingly in Seattle over the last two seasons, appearing in just 14 games and rushing for 254 yards while filling a reserve role behind Marshawn Lynch and Robert Turbin. He likely would have been Seattle's No. 3 running back this season behind Lynch and newly acquired Fred Jackson.

The 5-foot-10, 221-pound Michael adds depth to a Cowboys backfield that includes Joseph Randle, Darren McFadden and Lance Dunbar.

To make room for Michael on the 53-man roster, the Cowboys released defensive end Lavar Edwards, who made the initial cut on Saturday. That roster move brings the Cowboys down to 10 men on their defensive line. They released Ben Gardner and Efe Obada on Saturday, in addition to Edwards on Sunday.
