News: Cowboys Trade for Christine Michael per Schefter

I know guys like him throwing his shoulder into Dee Ford but that is not how the Cowboys ask their RB to block with their shoulder off 1 foot. They want them square and to strike with their hands and drive so as to sustain. MC got a good lick but it doesn't tell me anything.

Yeah I got up to that point when I quit reading the thread because Risen had started on a 'Dallas sucks but not as much as their fans' rant. I guess he didn't get what he wanted so he is throwing a tantrum.

Simple answer...he never does like what is talked about, unless it is attached to the sky is falling and a burn barrel watch.

No everyone keeps confusing his role. He is ace special teamer and 3rd string RB. If anyone would get cut it would be Randle. However I see Dallas running with 4 RB and just 2 QBs. Edwards DE was release to make room for Michaels.

If Michael does what I think he will, I'd dare to say Randle will be traded, perhaps for CB depth.

Dunbar has the cushiest job on the planet. He must get about $100,000 per carry.
Better than Randle and he's a better between the tackles runner than that Arkansas bust.

If he can't start here, it's on him. He'll never face less competition in the NFL.

What competition? Our present runningbacks are scrubs. I think he'll end up being the starter and they will alternate the other other 3 as a change of pace backs.

Good signing. Its about time they upgraded the runningback position. No way would we make it to the Superbowl with the backs we have now.

Lavar Edwards was released for this move.

Yeah, I should have read through the thread before commenting.

Overall, I'm excited about adding a back to the mix. It looks to me that Dallas might have mainly been interested in finding one who could get those "dirty yards," and Michael seems to fit that bill.

Several of us have been saying Dallas needed to do something like this all season and kept being told we're fine with what we've got. It's good to see that the front office understands that what we had was shaky to roll with if you believe you are a legitimate contender.

Now, I have no idea who will emerge as the primary back, but I love that our options don't only include one whose success if four years in the past, another who hasn't had enough carries to establish if he's legit and another who is nothing more than a specialty back.

Michael falls into the same category as Randle — Hasn't carried much, but has produced when given the ball — but if I'm projecting success from that kind of back, I'd prefer to do it with two of them, hoping at least one comes through.

Would much rather have a 3rd year pro than a UDFA rookie.

CMike has some warts but he is perfect for this team.

He's run style reminds me of Murray with a little burst in space. The other 3 backs we have seem to go down too easy. Even a gust of a mild wind will tend to topple them over. Not CMike. He's a bruiser that I think will fit well with our run attack.

Bring him as well.....

Broncos waived RB Montee Ball.

It was reported Saturday that Ball had survived the Broncos' cuts, but that was only true before GM John Elway went to work on the waiver wire. Elway presumably spent the past 48 hours exhausting trade possibilities on his 2013 second rounder. Ball has been a plodding disappointment as former undrafted free agents like C.J. Anderson and Juwan Thompson have surged past him on the depth chart, but there should be teams willing to take a flier on the running ability that made him a day-two pick. There's a strong chance he's claimed on waivers.

I will say it right now. Michaels is 1,200 yards 12 TD guy right now if Dallas commits.

I don't think anyone gets that many carries. They seem committed to the RBBC which is OK if they stick with it.

They need all 4 RBs the way I see it. Maybe not 4 active every game(that would be my preference) but knowing they have quality backups is important.
