Cowboys trade for Raiders DT to boost run defense (msn.com) Read it. We are getting a 7th back in return as well.
Hankins and a 7th, for our 6th!Wasn’t a first round was it.
Players should not be allowed to play in the league once they get to 27 yrs old.He entered the league in 2013. He's only 30.
He has been great in the past. Time will tell, but I'm very happy they've made an attempt to improve the middle of the DLHe’s 6’3” 340. Sounds like a 1-tech. Is anyone familiar with him? Is he any good at stopping the run?
Thats right, taking up space and not giving up ground at the point of contact upon snap.
If he does that, then we have a true 1 tech in house, but if he can also be disruptive, get up field and make some plays then Q and this defense strike gold.
We've had some good moments from several DTs, but none of them has just been dominant. Of course, I don't expect Hankins to be dominant, either, but if he can just clog up the running lanes, I'll be happy with that.
30 isn't necessarily way past their prime.
Im looking forward to how Quinn installs him.

Think how great the CFL would become.
..ok... might be BIG piece we need on DL.He is. He’s a 1T run stuffer. He’s not going to get sacks but he takes on two blockers and eats space
You'd have a point if age was the determining factor in prime years. But it's not. Injury history and tread will make players play older than they are. Hankins is nowhere near what he was with the Giants.
Like I said when we got Barr, don't expect this to be as big of an upgrade as we initially think.
Gallimore, Hill or Bo will be inactive
sweet deal really.Hankins and a 7th, for our 6th!
