TRADED Cowboys trade for George Pickens and 2027 6th for 2026 3rd and 2027 5th

Wow you are fine with adding the best receiver available in this offseason.

Rambo, why don’t u go back into your hole and hide again. Things got tough for the team last season and u disappeared.

While I may not think everything is rainbows and sunshine all the time for the cowboys unlike you, at least I have the balls to be here when times are tough. You’re a homer who has no resemblance of rationality, objectivity or subjectivity.

A grown man who still wears cowboys under Roos

Well the move does make me more positive about the upcoming season.

Dak needs large WRs with a big catching radius to be effective, and Pickens definitely has that. I was in favor of getting speed, but the problem is Dak never hits them as well. This guy is 24 and CD is 26, probably a decade of ability for Dak.

Now we have to hope Blue can do something and this OL isn't a false prophet. And just pray for the D to do anything.

so rent a WR for one year. go no where in playoffs. then actually having traded a higher 3rd round pick for a 4th round pick....right?
Yes, it’s a low risk look at a player who can improve your team for the upcoming season. If he has a great season you have the choice to either retain him or let him walk. If you let him walk you can get back the pick or something close to it. It’s not complicated.

improve for the upcoming season and then after that? do you think this team is ready for a championship run? teams that are almost there and need a player to put them at the top make this kind of move. not a team like cowboys who have holes all over defense. rent a player to be good in regular season. to what end?

my point which you totally missed. rent a player for one year. then let him walk and essentially having traded down to a worse pick and got nothing in return....

its not complicated. its stupid.

Exactly, and we'd be furious if the Eagles made this move instead of us.

What top players? Diggs is more of a liability now after his second injury. Revel is a rookie coming off major injury and we just promoted our 6th CB on depth chart out of desperation.

LBs are a huge question marks. Not much talent there. Osa is good not great. Mazi sucks. Others are questionable.

Do t get me started on safties... the backups are two UDFAs... and the starters are cooked.

This defense is got holes and question marks everywhere.

Sorry I am not drinking the Kool aid.
Me too.

I’m not sold on the trade.

That WR has issues.

Not really. They could use the franchise tag on him over the next couple of years. It would actually be smarter than a long-term deal. The tag for WR in 2025 is $21M, but he's playing this season, the final year of his rookie deal, for about $4M. So if we tag after this season and again 2027 ....

current salary............................$4M
2026 franchise tag estimate $22.5M
2027 franchise tag estimate $23.3M

Total over 3 years $49.8M = an average of approx $16-17M per season
He isn’t a PB WR.

Who said it’s a worse pick. Could be as high as a third or you retain the player. But you think trading up from 12 to 4 and losing picks this past draft and next year to pick a DT is good roster management? LOL. You’re making a case of Jerry being a good GM. Impressive.

In what scenario would we get back a 3rd or even a 4th? (anything below that is irrelevant after giving up a 3rd)
Depends on the contract he signs elsewhere, but Dallas has comp picks every year. Next year we should have 2 extra 5’s and 1 6th. Don’t think any of those contracts were enormous. But if Pickens balls out this year and Dallas doesn’t resign him, he will get a monster contract somewhere.
