Cowboys trying to trade up to 32

So reach for Billings? And why isn't LB very high? Is McClain the future at ILB? God I hope not. Who is playing SAM?

SAM isn't a prime LB spot anymore with teams often using a lot of nickel. I wouldn't waste a high pick on a SAM.

Billings at 34 isn't a reach. Kid could be a stud DT.

Damn, there are so many ways to go defensively at 34. CB, DL. Honestly, I'd even consider a trade down a few spots and nabbing another 3rd rounder. There are going to be some decent DL there too like Day.

Any chance Dallas can get Billings in the 3rd? Dude has that nasty attitude the DL needs.

I doubt it . A lot of people thought he would be a top 20 pick. DT has dropped in this draft . Thus making Robinson / billings available .

The Bears did with Floyd. I think if you look at a SAM backer now as a hybrid guy. Kind of like a 3-4 OLB. A guy that is good against the run, can cover and then can put his hand on the ground and rush the passer. But those guys are pretty hard to find.

Otherwise I agree with you. Traditional SAM backer is really only a 1 or 2 down guy.

prefer a DL with our next pick and don't want to give up resources to move up...unless the resource is the one 6th rounder that we can trade or it is somehow using Leary as bait

Alot of same being thrown around in here. I don't like moving up when you still have alot of other talent left.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the Cowboys are "attempting" to acquire the No. 32 overall pick from the Browns.

According to RapSheet, the Cowboys' "likely target" is a pass rusher. Rotoworld draft guru Josh Norris' top available edge rusher left on the board is Eastern Kentucky's Noah Spence. Spence has some off-field issues related to drugs, so maybe the Cowboys, who have already lost their two starting ends to suspensions, will shy away from him. Either way, they need help off the edge.

Rappaport also said if Wence was on the board, he would have been a cowboy...

Seriously, I cannot figure out how anyone can even be thinking about trading up two slots when there are so many good defensive players available at CB, DT, and DE along with good offensive players.

Just sit back and let the draft come to you. Stay true to BPA.

Stephan jones just said they aren't ! Don't believe that idiot crappoport

I guess I don't understand the Billings stuff, as it seems like with Crawford and Thornton, we are better set at DT than we are at DE. Especially since it seems like the value/BPA would be higher with Spence or Dodd.

Is it because Crawford or Thornton might play some DE while Gregory and Lawrence are out?

Floyd was apparently drafted for his pass rushing skills. He's likely not coming off the field in nickel situations like a true SAM LB would.

I'm thinking we might go after Xavien Howard. ball hawk type skills, and we have Carr and Mo are free agents next year and this dline class is deep and I still believe we will get something for leary...
