It's asking too much of stuck in the 90s Jerry to expect him to bring in a new and exciting offense right now. We would have to get Jason out first.

If Jason Garrett doesn't get his extension in the next 2 or 3 weeks, I look at the coaching changes to be strictly internal. With the probability of Kellen Moore drawing from his Boise State days to modernize this stale Garrett offense. Garrett calls the plays and the team has to progress in 2019 or else Jerry lets him walk after next year. The team starts over.

I don't see a high profile hire from the Saints or Rams with Garrett as possibly a lame duck coach. If Garrett gets his extension, then you might see it.

It looks like, however, that 2019 will be a sink or swim year for Garrett with Moore, Kitna and Nussmeier helping him out. If Garrett is indeed staying, then this is how I prefer it. I would definitely not be in favor of an extension. He needs to make the Super Bowl next year to get one, IMO.
