That's what I have been saying. Half these guys "tanking" or who have "quit", aren't even guaranteed to be on the roster in December, let alone next season. No one is tanking and Garrett has not lost this team--yet. That's coming from someone who has been vocal about how underwhelmed I am by Garrett and this staff. I just don't think the team is at that point yet. I see too much fight out on the field still to believe that.

There are some warning signs.

You have to watch the back half of the roster in these situations.

And the starters that have attitude issues or are disgruntled for some reason.

I don't think they completely collapse this week. I sure hope not.

Even though I am extremely disappointed in this season and I don't give style points for clawing, scratching or fighting, I would be a little shocked still, if that makes sense. I think this is an organization that definitely does not operate in reality and tends to spin for the positive.

But there are definitely signals that things are not right.

I'm curious to see how they perform this week. Last week had to take a lot out of them.

They're still saying the right things, and Tony's return is just around the corner. Hopefully they can gut out a win here. I agree, though, that I'm not seeing a lot of signs of emotional collapse. Though stuff like the Hardy tweet has me scratching my head.

Definitely, there's nothing to read into with the players on the injury report, though.

The only thing I will say about Hardy (off the field) at this point, is I won't talk about Hardy (off the field). As far as Hardy on the field, it's clear that guy hasn't thrown in the towel. Forget whatever you heard from the Eagles who equate effort with how hard you can run your mouth, that guy battled last week.

You have guys like Witten and Church who has been injured the whole season still out there. You have Sean Lee wanting to go back on the field after being knocked unconscious. You have Byron Jones straight up ballin and going 900 mph every play.

This team hasn't quit and I think Romo will come back just in time to resuscitate those who might. No, I don't think he saves the season, but he will save some jobs.

It amuses me that people think players are going to stop coming to practice for an NFL team if the team is losing. As if job security at this level means nothing. As if Brice Butler doesn't want more than anything to take snaps or a game day position away from Devin Street. As if Rod Smith gets to Dallas and is like "yeah, we're losing, I'm really not going to try to solidify my spot on this roster because it seems boring."

Seriously, guys. At least try to make the gloom reasonable. Or, failing that, entertaining.

Did Witten practice? Has he missed any practice all year? Unreasonable is you sticking up for this 6-game-losing-streak-bunch.

I've been watching the Cowboys for three decades. I know the warning signs. I don't see them yet.

Stuff like this never makes sense to me, either. Can't 'some' things be wrong with your favorite team during a 6 game losing streak without 'everything' being wrong with it?

The fact that we haven't gotten good QB play and we haven't been getting takeaways is sufficient to explain the losing streak. We don't have to resort to pretending bubble players are skipping practice because they just don't feel motivated to explain what's going on.

And saying a pretend criticism is weak isn't necessarily sticking up for the players. It's just saying 'can't we keep the criticism in the realm of things that might actually happen on an NFL roster?'

I don't think that's much of a stretch.

I thought Tashard Choice was your boy?

Tulious and Demarco will always be my boys.

But, sadly, they are both elsewhere. I like what I see from DMC. Fighting through adversity.. That's what it's all about. Quietly going about seizing the opportunity.

Not everything is bad. Jason Witten leads by example what professional football player should be, practice and play. Chistine Michael on the other hand will probably be cut next week to make room for Romo. Guys like him will never get it. Guys like him are the reason we're on a six game skid. He should be out there busting his butt. That type of attitude gets contagious and pretty soon we got 20% of the roster missing practice. If this isnt a sign of things going awry I dont know what is.

So Christine Michael and players like him are why we are losing?

They are barely seeing the field.

They are the first to check out because they were never there in the first place, but that is it.

I think it's more likely a sign of Michael being sick, but we'll see.

It's probably Weeden who gets cut when Romo returns, btw. No point carrying three veteran QBs, two of whom can't play all that well, and one young guy on the PS.

Actually 2 on PS or did we cut Showers? Anyway I see your point. It just that the same can be applied to the RB, no sense in carrying 4 RB's when only one gets any carries.

I liked Tashard until the Vick autograph thing. He was on the radio here the other day. I didn't know he was coaching with Kitna.

No. In order to fully enjoy the good times, you must endure the bad times. That is a great paradox of life. Without loss, there is no love.

I can see that principle at work in your nostalgic Dave Campo posts. ;)

With Christine Michael and Rod Smith both out sick, the RB group is down to DMC, Clutts and Trey Williams.

:lmao::lmao2::laugh:

So............

Anybody on the waiver wire? I've about had it w/ these clowns from Seatlle....

The only RB that we have that is worth a #$%$ and probably needs the rest the most...(Mcfadden) is the only one out there that knows what he is doing.

I'm seriously starting to think we may not beat Tampa. I've had a ray of hope....but now that is being crapped on w/ reports like this. :banghead:

Lose this week..and it's truly over...

The ignorance is overwhelming.

To play devil's advocate, it is conceivable that after working your butt off for weeks only to see the field extremely sparingly for a team that can't win a game anyway, I could see some frustration set in, particularly if you don't think you are going to be here next year anyway.

That said, when well paid vets like Carr or Mincey start checking out I will be concerned. When any of the OL guys do I will full blown panic.

Oh, I can definitely see frustration setting in. And it's crossed my mind that we're looking at an emotional let-down game this week, sandwiched between the Eagles loss and Romo's return game.

I just don't think today's injury report was a reflection of any of that. I think the RBs are legitimately ill, and Lee and Hitchens are hurt. We're at that point in the season where the injuries start to add up and team depth gets tested. Between now and weeks 13-17 it starts piling up. People are hurt and guys like Church are playing through ankles and abdominals and what have you.

I'd say, if we want to point to signs players are checking out this week, Hardy's twitter stunt is a bigger indication of letting an outside issue distract him and the team from football than Christian Michael getting the flu or whatever he's got.
