I was going to reply that next season's opener is a must win with Dak having to prove he is worth $75 million a year and Parsons looking for a new contract, Belichick has to show that he has control of the team but it just going to look like I am trying to set some kind of record.Wow. The first (of no doubt many) “this is a must win game” thread has been posted before the season has even started. That has to be a new Cowboyszone record!
Yeah we'll never recover from the browns loss 0-17 coming right up !Losing to the Browns, however, could send a shock wave through the team and the front office that makes them aware that they have peaked at their potential, and are on the way down instead of up.
.
Could you imagine the sky fallers
OMG...you tried to be profound again!!! and you failed...Acquiring Deshaun Watson was supposed to give the Cleveland Browns the leadership that would take their offense to the next level. With Amari Cooper and plenty of offensive talent the Browns hope to take the next step. Having Miles Garrett and a stellar defense, the Cleveland Browns are a legitimate super power- on paper.
Likewise, the Dallas Cowboys are supposedly an established group that should easily overpower any but the very best teams. And they have won 12 games in each of the past three seasons.
Game one of the 2024 NFL season for these two teams will undoubtedly send one team on their way to the playoffs with a confident mindset, but for the loser it very well could send that team into the kind of self doubt that would destroy their hopes. Winning would give the Cleveland Browns the confidence of knowing they are for real, and Kevin Stefanski's way of doing things is paying off. Losing, however, will most likely send thoughts into the minds of fans and players alike of another year of mediocrity, and those kinds of thoughts kill confidence.
The Cowboys are at a crossroads; winning helps them move forward with confidence that they are stable enough as a perennial contender to believe that it's only a matter of time before they put the pieces in place to be a championship caliber team.
Losing to the Browns, however, could send a shock wave through the team and the front office that makes them aware that they have peaked at their potential, and are on the way down instead of up.
It's a big enough game that the Cowboys could come away with the message that their window of opportunity is no longer there, and that kind of doubt can destroy a season.
It might be week one, but I believe is a "must win" for both teams.
That won't happen until the playoffs.Cowboys versus Browns just might be the biggest game of the year
If they make the playoffs. That won't happen until the playoffs.
By then, what happened in week one won't matter one little bit.
Intangibles? You want to talk about missing stuff by overlooking intangibles? Those who overlook the intangibles miss at least half of the game.
lol the NFL made it the " Game of the week" .... guess they are juvenile too?I'm guessing anyone who thinks a Week 1 game against a non-rival from another Conference could be the biggest game of the year, is probably like an 18 year old kid or something.
Nobody who's watched football for 10 years or so and has any sort of perspective would think this.
