Okay, so why are they discussing whether or not the Cowboys can defeat a winning team when they won't know who the winning teams are until the end of the season?
I mean, until yesterday, the only winning team the Cowboys defeated were the Eagles.
But then the Rams win last night to move their record to 8-7 so now the Cowboys have defeated two winning teams and the analysts can't make that claim any more. That is, unless teh Rams lose next week. Then we are back to the narrative that the Cowboys only beat one winning team.
It's just ridiculous.
You go by right now. What is their record right now?
If you beat a team that's 0-3, but then they go on win streak and finish 10-7, you beat a team with a winning record that year.
Conversely, if you beat a team that 1-0 (like the Jets) and they turn out to be 5-12, then you didn't beat a winning team. And we beat them without Rodgers, which is conveniently being forgotten here.
So yes, a win against a winning or losing team can change as the season evolves, of course. The only really messy thing about this is a good team that might lose it's quarterback, which can stilt the record, but otherwise, it's pretty straightforward.
Again, this is hard why?
