Only morons were bashing Romo. Most now see that if he was guilty of anything it was trying to do too much to overcome piss poor coaching and offensive scheme. Romo has hidden a lot of Garretts warts which are on full display now.
I slightly disagree. In some cases he may have been trying to overcome piss poor coaching but just because a pass play is calld when it shouldn't be doesn't take the blame off him for throwing an int or fumbling. There's no doubt the Cowboys would never be in some of these situations if it weren't for his stellar play but a games worth or seasons worth of great play can't overcome the one or two bad decisions that cost a game. Just off te top of my head
-the fumbled place holder snap to put us in the playoffs (not saying he should have been in there but he did fumble it and it's not like it was his first time holding the ball)
-going to Cabo during the bye when we were 13-3 (many people disagree with me here but I don't like his decision there, its playoff football, your mind should be focused on football)
-blowing a 24? point lead against Detroit with Romo throwing 3-4 ints
-2012, week 17 win and you're in against the Commanders. Romo throws 3 interceptions.
-3 int's w/ 2 being pick 6's against Carolina. I still think we had a chance to win that game if he didn't hand them 14 points plus what ever Carolina got off the other int
I'm sure there are plenty others that I can't remember. Again, we wouldn't be fortunate enough to be in some of those situations if it weren't for him (and Witten, Dez, Terrell, Austin and several other all star caliber players he's had on his side of the ball) but the guy just can't get it done when it matters most, plain and simple.
For the record, there's no doubt he has made Garrett look much better then he is and JG has been exposed.
