Game Day *** Cowboys vs Rams post game thread ***

Nolan is a fraud,i got nothing else to say.

Nolan's defense stepped it up in the second half. Offense doesn't score at least 20 points, I don't blame the defense.

I liked what the Rams were doing on offense, getting the ball out quickly. It took us a while to adjust. Meanwhile, our offense looked just like the 2019 version.

Not that it is ever a decisive factor in our losses, but I continue to ask myself how Chris Jones is employed in the National Football League.

No one can pin ‘em deep inside the 30 quite like Jones.

You keep repeating this as if you believe that a missed call and a blown call are one and the same (or for that matter, a call with 5:00 left in the 3rd and one in the final :30). They aren't.

If the refs want to let 'em play, fine. Just don't make a ticky-tack call in the final seconds that decides the outcome.

It’s part of the game. Move on and quit whining snowflake

To me this was the classic case of the team not playing as an orchestra.

The defense was getting gashed early, and the offense kept us competitive with some scores. All the while we miss a field goal and do a terrible job in the punting game.

And then, as the defense begins to stiffen, the offense scores 3 points over the final two quarters.

It’s a classic way to lose a football game.

season isnt over.
im amazed we didnt give up more points than we did...maybe they played better on that side of the ball than i thought.
we need to get back home...get a W and move on.

Exactly! It's game 1 with a new coach and no preseason. I think we should take a chill pill here. I think McCarthy now understands how this team operates in games, so I trust he'll make the necessary adjustments. On another bright side, our D made great adjustments that second half. We didn't see Marinelli do much of that. Let's also not forget. Parcells didn't look as good as billed in his first game. And at least we were a call away from OT and/or winning.

Time to move on to next week. We were robbed a come back opportunity, but we were not the better team and deserved to lose. They made more plays

Pretty much went as I called it. My prediction was 23-21 Rams win. I warned the D would not look good. That's what happens when the preseason games are not played, the defense suffers.

Very true. Neither unit got the support it needed when it was playing well.

I'm more disappointed in the offense, though, because it is supposed to be our strength. It has to score in the 20s or I don't expect the defense to be able to hold up, primarily because of the secondary.

I thought the Rams had a good plan for us, go after those secondary players primarily with quick passes, which allowed them to negate our pass rush for most of the night. It makes me envious when I don't see us do anything differently to try to pick on other teams' weaknesses on defense like the Rams did. That's the Garrett way, so I was hoping to see a little more ingenuity from McCarthy.

The only thing I really liked on offense was throwing to the backs a little more, but we even got away from that even though it was working.

Rams had the ball for almost 36 minutes....our defense couldn't get off the field....yet it's the offense that is the problem. Got it...

Yup, mine was 23-20 Rams.

1 more loss in the next few games and you could have had another free extravagant Whataburger dining experience free of charge.
