I am very disappointed in Anae. I thought he might be an effective pass rush specialist. But in games he did nothing. We'll see if anyone else picks him up, but the Cowboys can move on from him. They have Golston, Lawrence is coming back. Armstrong is already back and Gregory is a beast and needs to be on the field as much as possible.

Sorry to see him go. I have lunch with one of his relatives every week. Good football player in college. But is really not made to play pro.
I wanted it to work out as well as I do with all players, but he really showed no real reason to keep him, roster spots are valuable.

ive seen about 10 other teams do this this season alone..its part of the new nfl , it happens and btw the call was wide open it fully caught WFT off guard and Wilson made the wrong choice to run vs throw the pass to the open guy..

call was crazy, didn't agree with it but see it a lot now..

however this was poor execution's the play worked the player ie Wilson didn't throw it and we can see he can throw it, so the coaches had confidence in the play and players and the player failed..

1. I vaguely remember that call completely changing the momentum of the game.

2. The point was more so, if you are trying to claim that Anae was cut because of this one play and a new sense of accountability, then what’s the excuse last year, especially for that play?

If you are going to say he was cut just because of bad play and this was the final straw, that’s completely different.

Facts are there have been many questionable special teams gaffes with McCarthy in charge, going by my vague recollection. Painting this cut as some new “sheriff in town” mantra is pretty extreme.

Man, this is so disappointing. I read here that he was the next Lawrence Taylor:huh:

I hope it was the final straw rather than that penalty. It looked like a chain reaction: player moving into the line, touched inside lineman (who twitches) which sets Anae off.

No player would be released just because of one penalty. He obviously hadn’t been developing and was making numerous mistakes.

MM wants him back.

No guarantees he’ll get him back. You risk losing a player by waving them. He hasn’t provided the pass rush many thought he would.

Yet MM still covets him.

If he “coveted” him he wouldn’t have waved him. You don’t risk losing a player that you covet. He hasn’t done much of anything since he’s been here. There was talk about him not even making the team this season.

They obviously are going to activate players like Gallup, Gallimore, and Lawrence.

Is he better than Gallup? Of course he isn't.
