Cowboys were 195-0 when leading 14 points in 4th qtr

You must have missed all posts blaming the defense and run game for the loss. Or you just really want to push everything on the defense and ignore the failures of the offense?
I guess I did miss it. All I’ve seen is blaming our offense , OC and QB.

There always several contributing factors including providing credit to the opposing team.

In most of our games this season with our defense the offensive production of 28 points and 14 point lead in 4th qtr would have been enough.

If we need more than that then we might not have as much success as we had earlier this season.

Seems about right. Why do I feel like this was a huuuuuge loss?

It was a huge loss. Dallas was coming off a bye, GB was coming off a losing streak and had numerous injuries. It should have been a fairly easy win. I'm guessing Dallas came in overconfident and didn't take the game seriously. That is always a recipe for disaster.

Fans don’t even want to discuss why our defense gave up 31 points. Or a 14 point lead in 4th qtr.

14 point 4th quarters aren't once in a lifetime events. Every week 3 or 4 teams will score 14 points in the 4th.

Regardless, why did Dallas give up 28 in regulation to a poor GB team?
- Two times receivers beat Dallas CB's 1 on 1 with poor to no safety help. These two plays accounted for half of GB's points.
- The run defense is concerning. Everyone has gone over this at length. The DT's always get pushed back. The ends can't contain. The MLB never makes a play. Its frustrating to watch but Dallas isn't really giving up a lot of points this way.
- Dallas got short fielded once due to the Dak INT.

Basically, 3 plays accounted for 21 of the 28 points. Dak's INT. 58 yd to Watson. 39 yd to Watson (on 4th down to boot).

IMO, if you go into some safe type defense to protect against deep throws the defense overall will get worse, not better. Having the offense not turn the ball over makes the defense look good, as Cooper Rush showed.

.....

Overall, I still think that the guy with the bullseye on his back should be Kellen Moore. Offense helps the defense and defense helps the offense. The goal isn't to score a lot of points, the goal is to win the game. That's something that Parcells understood whereas I don't think KM gets it. Beyond that, his insistence on running timed read routes over the middle with no safety valve is making Dak and the receivers look like idiots.

The defense is good but not some all time great bunch. You probably need a very good DT and another good defensive back to get there. As such, they are going to have games like this in an offense first league.

They were until we gifted Aaron Rogers a way to get back into the season.

From his former coach, old buddy to old buddy....

Same old Cowboys. This loss just tells us nothing special is happening this season guys. We are still bound to lose like we always lose. Especially to Rodgers.
Huh? We literally did something the Cowboys have NEVER done, yet, it's the same old cowboys

Except for the few years Jerry had Jimmy Johnson, Jerry's version of the Dallas Cowboys stink.

Many good points and I agree with much. But the only reason we have been having success is mainly because of our defense. And if we can’t hold opponents under 30 points our offense this year hadn’t consistently shown the ability to get into this high scoring type affairs.

An amazing record which included not only the regular season but playoffs.

Never before in Cowboys history had we lost a game after leading by 14 points in 4th qtr.

How does one of the alleged top defenses in NFL this year blow a 14 point lead in 4th qtr?

Another record broken by our elite QB!

Probably 100% of teams don't blow a 14 point lead in the 4th quarter!

When Dak "TOAD HUNTER" Prescot is in the game all bets are off!

.....they prefer to mudsling Dak and excuse a whole bunch of other failures.

Dak's inability to help the Cowboys score in the 4th quarter contributed to the loss too. He's not blameless. yeah, the Defense screwed up big, but so did the offense. They are interdependent units and when one struggles the other has to step up. The defense has been stepping up all year. The offense needs to when needed too. It was a team loss. It wasn't just one one aspect of the game.

The entire team choked, including Dak.

It is what it is. He giveth and he taketh away.

If we are dependent on him to carry us we will have similar results.

Our hope rest in our defense holding opponents down in scoring and protecting leads.

It's not about counting points. It's about being able to move the ball in the 4th. We could not. Huge factor in the loss.

And to hold opposing O's to under 30, we must have some time consuming drives ourselves. Interrelated.
