I would think this is a pay-cut, not a siimple re-structure. Free has to know that if he is cut, he isn't getting anything on the open market. Vollmer is WAY better than him, and only got a little over 4 mil per year on his deal.

Vollmer's deal gave Dallas leverage. It could help with an outside signing as well.

Yes it still makes it a joke. He's a bad football player, period. The fact they are so accepting of his mediocrity is embarrassing. There was a time long ago when this franchise wouldn't allow this type of soft puss anywhere near the facility. Notice in that link where they talk about how the restructure will go and use the source Adam Schefter and yet Adam Schefter's tweet has non of those details other than the Cowboys will restructure Free's Contract.
