When you have a player that only signed his tender to get off the team... I don't think he is a very viable backup. He wants to start because he knows he's good enough to start... keeping a player like that on your team is a recipe for disaster. We could get away with it last year because he realized it was the last year of his contract and he would have a shot at starting (and did start to begin the year)... not so much this year.
