He still might in the right circumstance. He looked like an amazing prospect coming out of college. His scouting tapes are really impressive. The guy was a dancing bear out there.

He also broke a leg in the NFL

Me too.

I thought Decastro was a mean ******* (can I say that?). I thought Cooper was equally mean but way more athletic.

Not really surprised we are taking a look at him, the front office really liked him the year he came out. If they can fix him it will make the pending loss of Ron Leary less painful.
But he was cut from multiple teams. Why?

Cant hurt to take a look, maybe his career can be resurrected here.

Like others have said, if Hoodie didnt want him not sure how much he has left in the tank.

My expectations for Cooper are nil, to say the least. His career has consisted of three injury-plagued years with three different teams, with the last being Cleveland. He's merely had a workout with the C-boys and that's about it. Until I hear news that he's been signed, my expectations, are non-existent. He's just a poor, unfortunate guy who had a broken leg his first year. He was a bust from the start with Arizona and two years after that with the Pats and Cleveland as well. It never hurts to take a look, however, even though the signs are anything but encouraging.

I'd consider this recent report an encouraging sign, and further evidence that the Browns are clueless:

Right guard: Jonathan Cooper, Cleveland Browns, 84.8

Former first-round pick and reclamation project Jonathan Cooper had an excellent game for Cleveland in his first start for the team. Cooper didn’t allow a single pressure against the Bengals in 34 snaps, nor was he flagged during the game; he also run blocked well, and at least on that evidence, could be a key find for the team.

Why not? Some projects have worked out. And some don't

It was evidently a good start for him in Cleveland and that's to his credit. My doubts are, nevertheless, at least partly based on the fact that he was waived by the Browns, despite that initial pat on the back. He was also dismissed by the Cardinals and Pats. There were likely reasons, valid or not, for those other two boots as well. I'm not saying it's hopeless -- just that my expectations aren't there, considering the obvious lack of approval by three teams in two years time. Does he merit consideration? If the Cowboys are willing to sign him, evidently he does, although I haven't seen anything indicating that they have done so. If and when they do, I'll be encouraged far more than one pat on the back might cause me to be.

Who's roster spot does he take? Why another G when Collins is coming back as well?

Let's do this! Hope he can resurrect his career starting today!

I read that his workout went very well. He has to be better than the guy just called up from the practice squad and hopefully can adequately replace the depth Leary gives us at a much cheaper rate.

I would send Sanchez packing if it was me, he should me nothing that would warrant keeping him on the roster.

Besides, if both Dak and Romo get hurt in the playoffs, we are done anyways.
