Really thought Cooper was going to be a good one.
I can't speak for everyone, but I didn't say that about Collins (pretty sure I didn't at least) because there was at least a pathway to being a starter. He was younger than Leary, and cheaper as well. Just based off that, he would get every opportunity to start and imo, he was better than Leary as a rookie. Cooper, unless he is gonna be the back up center, will be inactive every week.
I remember when J. Cooper and C. Warmack were the saviors we needed for the OL and how we had to take one at 18 because 2 OGs would never go before that. That was followed by rueage with the trade and Frederick pick. Looking back now...
When the Browns pick you up on waviers only to release you again for a guy who had a DUI that wasn't on anyone's active roster. Yeah, nobody needs to be privy, the silence is deafening. (from the Cardinals, Patriots, AND Browns!)
Leary replacement.
Yeah it was ugly around here that night. That was before I started posting and was just lurking so I don't have any traceable thoughts from that nightYeah the world was ending when we passed on Cooper to take Frederick and T Will... So many people graded us an F
Unless the team has plans to have Collins compete at right tackle? Right now, that's by far the offensive line's biggest weakness. If that happens, left guard suddenly opens up. And there's not a much better spot to fit into than between Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith and Pro Bowl center Travis Fredrick.
I can see the possibility appealing to Cooper. If it didn't, he likely would have declined the workout invite.
I think if the team was inclined to try Collins at RT, they would have by now. Maybe they'll surprise us in training camp, but I doubt it
I love it. They aren't complacent with this season and looking to improve, that's why Dallas has changedThis could be like the Marc Colombo signing for us. Got hurt with the Bears, was never really healthy, we signed him, he got healthy and he gave us some great years.
Also there's a lot of activity and futures signings going on right now as smart NFL teams are already getting ready for next season's OTA's and training camp. It's not all about the playoffs. 20 teams just had their seasons ended and our scout staff is looking over other team's practice squads for signing for next year.
They have gave him reps at RT, just not in a game yetI think if the team was inclined to try Collins at RT, they would have by now. Maybe they'll surprise us in training camp, but I doubt it
It's the Browns. Given all of their personnel mistakes, it's essentially an endorsement to be cut by them.
Yeah the world was ending when we passed on Cooper to take Frederick and T Will... So many people graded us an F
lol, no. Hyperbole doesn't work on me. The Browns have a lot of issues, they take flyers on highly talented people who flunk out of the NFL. Hence why they picked Cooper up....and RGIII....and I can keep going.
Joe Thomas is garbage by your statement.
They have gave him reps at RT, just not in a game yet
Think it was last year's training campAre you reffering to the first mini camp after he signed, because I recall them taking a look at him there and moving him to guard. I'm not aware of any reps there at least this year and most of last year. I may have missed something, but I think the media would have made a big deal out of it.
Really thought Cooper was going to be a good one.
If I'm cooper I'm doing anything possible to get signed. Walk the dogs, take out the trash, clean the toilets.
Going from unemployed, to the team you wanted to play for, in the playoffs as the 1 seed? Doesn't get much better
Why in the hell would they be doing that if Collins is going to be back for the playoffs? Maybe they're just looking to sign him for next year.
