Cowboys worked out speedy WR Chad Jackson
By dcfanatic, January 23, 2010 8:50 pm
Just heard this on SiriusXM Radio and it was a little intriguing...
Chad Jackson worked out for Cowboys
I thought it was weird that I had not heard about this sooner.
But then I see Adam Caplan also reported this on his Twitter account, read here.
In 2006 he's the kid who made a name for himself by running a 4.3 at the NFL combine. He's from Florida and was not much of a WR while in college and has been a bust since entering the NFL.
But he's only 24 and most would say he's still pretty raw. The Cowboys obviously worked him out for one reason.
They want to see about him because he's a burner.
Tony Romo had a bunch of big pass plays in 2009, but most of them were on short pass that Miles took for big gains and a few were in that first game against the Bucs.
It seemed like Romo would rarely ever throw the ball more than 15-25 yards down field this past season. No one could get deep because Roy Williams and Patrick Crayton are not speed guys.
I think this is why the Cowboys are hoping Kevin Ogletree can develop
quickly and get on the feld more. Remember that play against the Eagles where Romo just misses KO at the five yard line?
This offense needs more plays like that to stretch the field vertically.

Cowboys worked out former Patriots second-round pick WR Chad Jackson this week.
OK. But who the heck is Chad Jackson? In 2006 he's the kid who made a name for himself by running a 4.3 at the NFL combine. He's from Florida and was not much of a WR while in college and has been a bust since entering the NFL.
