We don't need a headcase in Brandon Marshall. We need to draft a WR high in the draft. 2nd round maybe. I'd draft OL first round.

People don't realize that Hurd may not be back, so signing this kid to a training camp job is no big deal at all....

If it doesn't work out we lost nothing....

I think it is good move with no to low risk. He is not going to cost us much but we get a chance to bring him in and if he can show enough bring him to training camp and allow him to compete for a roster spot.

Please, lets not start the "get rid of Hurd campaign" He is everything this team needs despite the fact he is not a burner. He plays hard, consistent, special teams ace, great attitude, solid when thrown in the lineup. He is the type of guy you want in the WR spot 4-6

I'm with you, brother, but I don't think there's anything that can be done to stop this one. Sam Hurd's been labeled a possession receiver. He's got to go in favor of a long shot with speed who is learning to catch and who doesn't play any special teams.

I really like Hurd. He has reliable hands and even though he is a s slow as molasses, he has a nose for the endzone and is also shifty. I hope we can keep him around somehow.

Until or unless someone can do the job better.

Oh great, another WR for you to sweat all off-season.

:D

Hey!

Didn't even think of that.

Yet another bonus!

Reggie Wayne is the prototypical possession wr.

If by that you mean he's a great all around receiver, then I agree.

If the Patriots draft you and you still can't be a decent WR, you're probably not going to do much in your career.

He may also opt to leave to a team where he can play WR in a consistent basis. He knows that here he's at best the 4th option and that at some point Ogletree is going to pass him on the depth chart. He may also get more money elsewhere.

Not saying I want him gone, but it's not completely out of the realm of possibilities that he may not be back.

Oh, definitely. There's a very good chance he's not back next year, and it would be because there's a better role out there for a player like him someplace. I'd actually be very surprised to have him here next year.
