Add Bengals to that list.

@erod, you're vastly undervaluing the backup QB position. Moore is not the answer.

Moore threw for 400 yards in one of his few starts. He's comparable to any of those blowhards.

Miami, Washington, Houston, Chicago, Jacksonville, New York, Philly. All have Back-ups who could win a few games off the top of my head.

Matt Moore, Colt McCoy, Brandon Weeden, Mark Sanchez.......

Are you serious?

Moore is comparable to any of those losers.

Matt Moore has won at lest half his games. McCoy has won half his as a back-up. '

Kellen has never won a game, despite having a much better roster.

He's also never won a game despite having a great roster.

Kellen Moore is not the backup quarterback. If Dak gets seriously hurt, the backup quarterback will be sitting next to Jim Nantz.

They don't need to commit a bunch of money to a nobody like they did with Orton and Weeden.

There are 12-15 good quarterbacks in the world. The rest are basically interchangeable losers.

If you believe that, OK. You think Romo is going to come back for three games if Dak is not out for the season?

Not for three games, but any time before Thanksgiving and if it's a season-ending injury, I think it's a done deal. Stephen all but said it on the season-ticket call.

Meanwhile, Moore will be fine. Last time, he didn't have Zeke, Dez was beat up, and the defense was the worst in NFL history.

This is your problem, you are only focused on a season ending injury. It is much more likley that a back-up only needs to play a few games. I want a back-up in the best position to will those games. Most back-up have been starters in the leauge, have experience, and have won games.

The debate wasn't even about Moore vs other back-ups, it was concerning your viewpoint that back-up QB is an irreverent position.

He's probably good where he is @ for now....And in all honestly....he's really never got a fair shot to show what he can do. That 3 game tryout he had in 2016 was a joke as the team had quit a month earlier. But even then he showed he could move an offense w/ consistancy. He did have 2 mis-reads vs the Jets that was on him. I'm sure the speed of the game probably caught him off guard...since he basically sat on the bench all year. You just can't duplicate live speed in practice. Especially in Dallas ...where the statues quo is 3/4 speed and avoid injury. I still think he is so under-rated. Sure he doesn't have the physical measurables....but you can't measure heart...and knowledge...able to handle pressure. If it wasn't for the freak injury...he may very well be the starting QB now. There wasn't anything Prescott did last year..that Kellen couldn't do...
Floaty, if you are the president of the Kellen Moore fan club, sign me up as the VP. I definitely think he can win a game or two if Dak were to go down. Yes, he doesn't have ideal size or arm strength, but he has anticipation and can read defenses and the only person who knows the offensive playbook better is linehan, imo.

Assume you are correct, let's not even bother to address the idea that Romo would even be successful trying to do that.

Meanwhile, Moore will be fine. Last time, he didn't have Zeke, Dez was beat up, and the defense was the worst in NFL history.

So Moore will be fine, but he is so "fine" that a player that has been sitting in a broadcast booth and has not taken a meaningful snap but a handful of times in the last two years is just going to be better? That tells me you really don't have nearly as much confidence in Moore as you think you do.

It's irrelevant because backup quarterbacks suck almost by definition. They're pretty much all the same.

Moore, Weeden, Cassel, Sanchez, Orton, Bolinger......just clones of each other essentially.

Rarely, you get a Kitna, and once every 50 years, you have a Kurt Warner, but otherwise, they're just rotating journeyman.

I'd rather have a young and hungry QB who set the all-time NCAA record for wins (50-3) and threw for 142 touchdowns and 28 interceptions....than a free-loading veteran looking to collect a check.

I think Moore will be OK for a game or two.

I don't see any point signing a stopgap veteran at this point.

It would be good to draft a QB in the 4th next year.
