Was this ever verified, or is it just hearsay that's become part of the CZ lore here? I don't remember ever seeing anything said about it other than from another poster alluding to it a couple of times.

I remember reading the article, I just can't remember the source.

Wasn't just here, it was all over Dallas and Cassel said it in an interview. He wasn't complaining just stating a fact. He said he didn't really understand the offense until he saw Romo run it in MIA.

If we sign him, do we have to feed him too? Getting tired of the money these guys make and free food too, where does it stop?

Yeah, I went and looked for it the last time it was mentioned, but couldn't find it. I think Cassel reportedly said something to John Lynch. But I wanted the context.

He wouldn't be the 1st or the last 10yr+ vet back up qb that didn't feel like putting his all or partial effort into the job.

Just the most recent who's out of the league because of it. A backup quarterback needs to be mentally prepared, even when they're not getting reps. Vick couldn't do that. He was never a cerebral player, and he isn't now.

He is what he is and teams will give him a call during the season, probably Pittsburgh when Ben goes down. Teams call vet qbs off the couch all the time at the start, when their projects qbs fail, or during the season when an injury happens.

He was what he was. Nobody's calling him. Pittsburgh preferred to claim Mettenberger.

Yeah Davis is getting as much interest as hardy and ray rice have, whoopty freakin doo.

One guy is getting interest, one guy isn't. The facts are crystal clear.

No surprise they let an him go in order to give younger guys a better look in camp. He still went 2-1 last year as Pittsburgh's backup.

And he was the only guy who managed to shut down Antonio Brown last year. The Steelers win despite Vick, not because of him, and that's why he wasn't kept around.

I don't even like Vick but I can't imagine being excited choosing Davis over him they're both trash but one actually has more than 10 games experience.

Methinks thou doth protest too much, especially for a player you "don't even like".

The facts are his team won as he was being a selfish, lazy, and a uncerebral player. Also he did it with out a top 10 defense.

Another fact is he has a scheduled visit with the Vikings tomorrow.

I don't like him but hes definitely earned his stripes unlike Austin "one game wonder" Davis. If they cost the same then I'm taking Vick and hoping he can use some of his wisdom to at least help Dak not be a screw up. If he is what you say he is than he'll be gone in a few weeks anyways.

I was wondering about that after the Bridgewater injury.

Again, all indications from the team is that they're not interested in him.

I'm sure they have some sort of game plan. I think they need help for tonight over anything else.

Cowboys Unlikely To Sign QB Austin Davis

The Cowboys quarterback search continues. This week, the Cowboys met with Austin Davis, but it no longer sounds like they are intent on signing him, Todd Archer of ESPN.com tweets. As Archer notes, it’s not exactly clear where the Cowboys will turn in their pursuit of quarterback depth now. Austin Davis (vertical)

One thing we do know is that the Cowboys are only seeking a player to serve as a backup to Dak Prescott until Tony Romo is ready to return to action. The Broncos reached out to the Cowboys hoping that they might want to instead use Mark Sanchez as their starter over the next few weeks, but Dallas did not have interest in the USC product at his current salary. Meanwhile, it now sounds like Romo will be out for a minimum of two months.

THIS PISSES ME OFF JERRY DOES NOT KNOW IF AN WHEN HE WILL BE BACK AN FOR HOW LONG

The author knows nothing.

Nobody knows anything until his next mri which won't be until next week. Until then its all people just repeating rumors.

Next week we will find out where the crack in the bone is and then where Romo is.

lol. Maybe ole Jerry boy will send Garrett in. He looks to still be in good shape and he couldnt do as much damage to the offense playing QB compared to coaching...so its a winner.
