I can't imagine they would sign a guy today, play him tomorrow and then cut him. All he would be able to do is hand off.

If you want that, there has to be some undrafted stiff they could sign for one day to do that.

In my opinion, the less Wade Wilson 'coaching', the better. I hope he fully recovers from his current ailment, but I think the quarterbacks would be better off without him.

I would normally agree, but according to Babe the other night he deserves a lot of the credit for Dak. He's the one that visited him like 5 times. Maybe he had a wake up call as he's been able to cruise through coaching for years with Romo. We have never brought him any decent toys to play with so maybe he finally woke up?

I'd be happy to be wrong about him.

Especially given Minnesota's situation. Davis is free several days before other quarterbacks like Murray and Sanchez who are likely to be cut. Signing him for one preseason game would be pretty insulting and a waste of his time.

We do that all the time. Not to QB's but to LB'S and DB'S! It's for an emergency situation if Showers got hurt. You want Beasley trotting out there in the 2nd quarter and on??

Remember when we played Miami 2 weeks ago and we knocked out Moore on like the 2nd play? They then had to go to the 3rd string too early.

I hope we sign him to stay myself.

Well we ought to hear something soon if it's to happen. It's getting late in the day and got to be practice time soon.

No practice today as they have the luncheon deal today and game tomorrow.

And yet, as you said, he's still "on the market". My opinion of him isn't about his past sins, it's about the fact that he's not smart, doesn't study, and can't play anymore. And the league agrees at this point.

No he won't. Teams want to get quarterbacks up to speed in their system for as long as they can. You don't wait until the last minute at that position if you can avoid it.

Which is much more than Vick is getting. There's interest in Davis, none in Vick.

The Steelers had him last year, and despite their backups (including former Cowboys bust Dustin Vaughan) looking terrible, aren't bringing him back either.

He wouldn't be the 1st or the last 10yr+ vet back up qb that didn't feel like putting his all or partial effort into the job.

He is what he is and teams will give him a call during the season, probably Pittsburgh when Ben goes down. Teams call vet qbs off the couch all the time at the start, when their projects qbs fail, or during the season when an injury happens.

Yeah Davis is getting as much interest as hardy and ray rice have, whoopty freakin doo.

No surprise they let an him go in order to give younger guys a better look in camp. He still went 2-1 last year as Pittsburgh's backup.

I don't even like Vick but I can't imagine being excited choosing Davis over him they're both trash but one actually has more than 10 games experience.

Yep.

Another thing I thought of is, whomever they bring in who is going to teach them? Remember Cassel last year saying he had nobody to barely talk to? Wade and Linny will need to be all over Dak, unlike Romo, because he so green.

Was this ever verified, or is it just hearsay that's become part of the CZ lore here? I don't remember ever seeing anything said about it other than from another poster alluding to it a couple of times.
