I wonder if Romo's contract has some escaltor clause or guaranteed money if he gets injured this season. May be the reason that Jerry does not want him to play; might make it more difficult to cut him. For comparison, Tyrod Taylor has been benched for Week 17 because his contract for next year becomes guaranteed if he is injured in the finale (they'd owe him $30M). Either that, or Jerry does not want a QB controversy if Romo lights up the Iggles.

Mark Sanchez told reporters he was ecstatic to be playing Sunday. Then he was told Tyron Smith was out and got Eli Manning Interception Face:

There is "history"between Cowboys and Eagles..........the Buddy Ryan Bounty, Aikman sacked 12 times his rookie year by the Eagles, Eagles ended M.Irvins carreer with neck injury, Eagles broke Romo's clavicle.....

Not all of them intentional, most part of the game...........but there is "history"......At least dont tell them Romo might get into the game, and let them "gearup" to end his career---because they would. It would make their season ....their fans would crow about it until their "next superbowl"

So, let me get this straight. Romo is supposedly healthy, and would replace Prescott in the event of injury, but he can't see the field during a meaningless game?

And, the Cowboys would rather that he potentially go into a playoff game not having seen a regular season snap since Thanksgiving, 2015?

For a team that made a number of sage personnel moves this year, this one boggles the mind.

It's obvious they are afraid he would get hurt again. That would lose him for the playoffs and reduce his trade value down to zero. They feel he has enough experience that he doesn't need a few series to get ready.

So will Sanchez be active for the playoffs? If not what's the use getting him reps on Sunday.

Because Jerry said basically the only way Romo sees the field is if Dak gets injured. Must be some kind of agreement the franchise leadership all came to internally; for reasons they are not sharing with us.

And who knows what they will do for the playoffs? I would imagine they would start Dak and bring Romo as the backup. But I don't know that for sure. None of us do.

If they are afraid that he will get hurt again, and they are around him every day, then why on earth would another team trade for him? If they see that the Cowboys are afraid to put him on the field, it wouldn't exactly make acquiring Romo an enticing prospect.

Why do you think many people feel they won't be able to trade him?

Think about it.

Romo will turn 37 next year. If they keep him under glass, as they appear to be doing, he will not have played a meaningful snap of football since November of 2015. In 2015, he played what amounts to three games (he was hurt in the third quarter of both the Eagle and Panther games), suffered two injuries, and ended up injured in a preseason game. He also has a back injury that requires practice modifications for him to manage.

With the injury history, lack of recent activity on the field, his age, and the Cowboys unwilling to expose him to opposing defenses, if you were a team looking for a QB, why would you trade assets for this player?

Romo needs to play too, he needs to test his body , otherwise we would never know. One qtr , Dak, 1qtr Romo , finish with Sanchez
