I admire Romo as well. He so easily one of my all time favorite players.

He had his chances though, I don't think he got the shaft. Everything is not all his fault but he deserves a share for coming up short as well. He had 10 years, that's a lifetime in the NFL. His days were numbered regardless of how Dak performed.
I love Romo. Don't think his lack of success in Dallas was his fault. But I think many fans fail to realize....because we are always on TV...we are the richest franchise....we have the best stadium...the most visible owner....the best cheerleaders...the best practice facilities etc.....that during his reign...we have won 2 playoff games. We are so used to NOT winning....we are measuring our success on other "things". But I am not a benefactor all of all these "things". I am just a fan who is SICK on not winning!

lol.

I wonder if someone could push a microphone into one of Williams teammates' faces and that person answer a question by saying something like, "Great to have a number two WR that's not (fill in the blank)." Some of the things that people in a spotlight say remind me of a line from a Run DMC song, "Your mouth is so big, one bite would kill a Big Mac."

Anyone that didn't think this guy had pressure last year was in a fairytale. Almost every game, you would hear..."Now comes the real test". And you're right...there were no expectations in THE BEGINNING. But, once they started winning, the kid had much pressure to perform.

No, you didn't hear that. Like I said, it was imagined. The only people saying that were being sarcastic trying to look down on other people that weren't pumping roses up Dak's butt. It became a weekly joke thread around these parts.

But, of course, he had pressure. Every QB, every player, in the NFL does. High expectations were not a part of that.

Dak got to play free of "expectations" this year. That will not be the case next year. I am a Cowboy fan...so I am pulling for the guy to prove last year was not a fluke. But I don't take what Terrance Williams said as a "shot" on Romo. Romo has carried this organization on his back...and it finally gave out. So it is understandable if he was moody from the pressure and burden to do the majority of the heavy lifting. Heck..I am still moody over the Green Bay loss.
Agreed. I do believe we need another #2 receiver though...Please give us a hands catcher, this body catching stuff is crap.

This is part of the reason that I am ready to turn the page. It's not fair but Romo era is represented by 10 years of coming up short---what will the next 10 years be? I don't know but I'm looking forward to something different, maybe winning two years in a row for once, maybe making it past the divisional round.

I could tell something was different week 2 when Zeke ran on the field to hype up the defense when they needed a stop. Dak won me over when he promised Garrett he would get the first in OT after having an awful game. I don't this this duo is going to accept losing.

I believe Dak wields us to victory against the Giants if Dez didn't fumble. I was at the stadium and I could feel it in the air. I also think we win the Packers game if his last pass didn't get deflected.

Major Kudos for the Run DMC "You Talk Too Much" reference DallasEast!

I see you have a low post count... pay no attention to the Animosity troll. He's the personification of a repetitive troll broken record. His next post will either mention 2010 Aaron Rodgers or 2013 Andrew Luck. It's like clockwork.
Thanks for the heads up good sir.

I hope you're kidding. There was so much noise about how every game was his "real test"

Exactly. Dak most certainly didn't get to play free of expectations. Few quarterbacks faced more pressure than he did last year, what with Romo looking over his shoulder and being the QB of America's Team. The fact that Dak excelled under those conditions is a very good sign and gives me great hope for the future.

I don't really buy that. Yeah, he was complimenting Dak, but he's only had two real QBs in his career. His only real comparison of note is Romo and Dak. Unless you really think he's referring to Cassel, Weeden, and Sanchez?

I don't either.

Maybe if Terrance didn't disappear in games and was more consistent his QB wouldn't be so moody. I'd get frustrated too.

I don't know if these stats are accurate but if they are.....

We failed him. He didn't fail us.

Romo is a very good quarterback, but let's not compare him to Tom Brady, who is the GOAT. That shows how misleading stats can be.

It's like in the Super Bowl. Matt Ryan had a QB rating of 144.1 to Brady's 95.2. But there is no question Brady had the better game, which is why he was Super Bowl MVP. Winning is the most important stat, particularly in the post season. Tom Brady has 25 post season wins, more than 28 NFL teams!

No, that was imagined by people trying to deflect any and all criticism. It was a strawman. There were no expectations for the rookie to carry the team.

Funny you bring up criticism and lack of expectation in the same breath.

That's a bit like saying you don't expect your dog to talk but then yelling at him for not answering the phone while you were in the shower.

So which is it, was there a bar or not?
