If TWill thought Tony was moody, he should have tried Aikman. If Troy would grab Larry Allen by the face mask and scream at him, just imagine what he'd do to TWill.
.
yeah rip his head off then scream at him

So you don't like QBs who don't display whether they're happy or mad with you? Got it. *nods head*

Just wait until Dak gets more experience, don't think he won't be as demanding as any other vet QB.

Oh T-Will.. This thread should get a lot of run tho.

Yes, if Williams had been here when Romo first started out, he probably would have said the same thing. It's fun to go back and watch Romo back then when he played with a more care-free attitude.

Most QBs end up over the years finding out that you can't always be everyone's friend because the position demands you to be stern at times.

I don't think that was a shot at Romo. T-Will had great on-field rapport with Romo. He was complimenting Dak on his demeanor. At least that's how I took it.

I don't think he meant to take a shot at Romo because I don't think Williams dislikes Romo. However, I don't think it comes as surprise that an older vet who knows his window is closing would be more surly than a wide-eyed rookie.

Everyone knows the 2nd year is the real test.
Depends on sophomore slump or not. After 2nd year the 3rd year could be the real test haha

Let's keep pushing Dak to the limits. No need to settle or think cause he had a great rookie season is time to relax. We didn't win the superbowl, hell we didn't win a playoff game. Until that happens Dak must continue to improve every game

Cowboys WR on Dak Prescott: 'Great to have QB that's not moody'
Without QB Tony Romo in the fold, Dallas Cowboys WR Terrance Williams credits the success of 2016 to one key attribute by Dak Prescott.

"Playing with Dak is always great," said Williams. "When you have a quarterback that's not always moody, by that, I mean sometimes you have a QB that's happy or sometimes he's mad or sometimes you don't even know the mood -- but, with Dak you go in the huddle and he's always calm. He's always cool, calm and collected. No matter if we're down by such amount of points or winning. Dak is just one of those guys that you tell him to do something, and he pays attention to the small things.

"And that's what makes him so great."

Actually, it's probable that if Williams was asked to comment on playing with Romo that he would say something similar. He was making a generalization here.

Yeah, the Romo from 2006-2008 has been long gone. He's had to close himself off as the starting QB of America's team.

People seem to think Dak won't do the same, but it's all fun and games when you're the new kid on the block. It's not as fun when you're now the grizzled vet whose team hasn't lived up to expectations.

Ignorant post IMO
Any intelligent football fan knows that the reason Romo has so many yards and stats is from playing half his games trying to come back from behind after turnorvers. Il never forget the buffallo game where i dissowned him and he won won me over in the same game.

The thing I hated most about the Romo era is the failures in almost every meaningful big game especially at home just stunk it up over and over.

How often do you think Brady was really playing catchup ball slinging like this last superbowl after trying to pull a Romo stink bomb in the first half?

Why dont you put up theyre playoff stats for comparison too?
Ignorant post.

I don't know if these stats are accurate but if they are.....
We failed him. He didn't fail us.

It appears to be correct.

Most of Brady's best statistical seasons have been after his first 4/5 seasons, while 127 starts is Romo's entire career.

Romo had his share of flubs, but in total, the Cowboys just didn't put enough around him for Tony to be successful in the post season for most of his career. Huge difference between having Belichick run your team, vs. Tony playing on a team ran by Wade Phillips, Jason Garrett, and Jerry Jones.

I don't think T-Will was taking a shot at Romo. I think TWill is saying that Dak's demeanor was different. But, Dak hasn't had to put up with years of WR's running the wrong routes and getting obliterated by the fans and media each week like Tony did for so long. Romo brought some of that on himself as well and hopefully Dak doesn't make the same mistakes. It's just easy to see why a player may like a QB with a different approach to things. As a QB like Romo, you don't have to be a drill sergeant, but you have to take command of the guys and hold them accountable when they are not doing their job. It took Tony a LONG time to get to do that and perhaps if he had started doing that from the get-go, a lot of the criticism around him would have stopped and then he wouldn't be 'moody' later in his career.

It would have also helped to have had any HC besides Wade that could have quelled the media circus. That's probably Garrett's strongest attribute as a coach for this team.

I don't really buy that. Yeah, he was complimenting Dak, but he's only had two real QBs in his career. His only real comparison of note is Romo and Dak. Unless you really think he's referring to Cassel, Weeden, and Sanchez?
And don't forget his college, HS, MS and pop Warner QBs.

And when he passes year two with flying colors, his junior year will be the ultimate test. Beginning to see a pattern here.

;)
His real test will be after he signs his 150 million dollar contract. Lol

Osweiler making almost 20 million guaranteed next year, I bet he's always happy. Lol

Holy smokes... QBs really got over last year.

- Brock
- Fitzpatrick was a proven perennial journeyman QB.... and because of one year he was given the highest average deal.

That's criminal.
Don't get me wrong. I'm glad for him.
But it's criminal lol

Funny you bring up criticism and lack of expectation in the same breath.

That's a bit like saying you don't expect your dog to talk but then yelling at him for not answering the phone while you were in the shower.

So which is it, was there a bar or not?

Criticism is not dependent on expectation. You can point out flaws and mistakes without having an expectation that these things won't happen.

The "bar" for Dak was that of a 4th round rookie. The bar will be much, much higher in the future.

Maybe he was referring to Weeden crying in the huddle last year. ;)
