They would have to IR Stanbach -

We go with 5 WR's and Stanbach makes team. The math is pretty simple and we are thin at WR and could see us try and sneak a WR onto 53 if value from other team late but not likely.

1. Terrell Owens
2. Patrick Crayton
3A. Sam Hurd
3B. Miles Austin
5. Isaiah Stanback

We don't use four receivers on the field at the same time. Any time it's a four wide look, we do it with Jason Witten or motion someone out of the backfield.

It would take a tremendous effort from one of the bottom dwellers to make us keep a sixth receiver and we seem to have a slew of prospects ideal for the practice squad.

Jefferso > Amendola.

Jefferson has definitely proven more in preseason. I just don't get the Amendola craze.

He's a white receiver out of Texas - that is the craze and Rudi like hope for him.

But with Pac/Crayton he is 3rd string PR and we don't need him at #6 WR - He has no role on this roster and never really did.

Every year is the feel good longshot story. Hard knocks all over this one

And somehow some people dont even want to bring Horn in for a look

even though Amendola has more turnovers than catches

u can count me as one.

I'll drive that bus if you want.

I dont want that bum anywhere near this team.

Ummm...last time I checked, he brings FAR more on ST's than either Jefferson or Lowber.
Danny Amendola has heart and is willing.

I'm just not sure the results will be good enough.

Even if Amen makes the 53 man roster, I don't think he'd be effective enough on our coverage teams to be active on game day. I do not think he is in the top ten when it comes to covering kickoffs and punts or blocking on our return teams as part of the wedge.

Danny isn't going to be a returner barring something unforeseen.

If Amen's just going to be insurance and inactive for games, residing on the practice squad makes more sense than tying up a roster spot unless his upside as a wideout bars such a move in the coaches' eyes.

Same here.

Jerry Jones has Sean Payton to rely on if he's curious about what Joe Horn has left.

There's no upside to signing such a player in my eyes.

Horn, Terry Glenn, whomever.

These are emergency options for teams in dire straits once the season has begun.

Does that sound like us?

in his defense from the Houston game he had a reception for 30 yds. and Mike Jefferson had 2 drops.
Danny Amendola has barely been thrown at enough to even have the chance to drop that many passes.

Not that I think he'd drop many.

Drops are all but irrelevant in pre-season games.

Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett know who has good hands and who doesn't, the head coach even mentioned it today during his presser. What they are interested in during these exhibitions is seeing route running, releasing from the line of scrimmage, sight adjustments, clearing zones to open passing lanes to other receivers, etc.

Things that will indicate how the player is developing and if he is worth a roster spot.

Jefferson or Lowber would be tying up the same roster spot that Amendola would be...I doubt very seriously that any of them would be active on gameday.

Exactly.

I only see carrying 5 wideouts at this point.

Hard Knocks has covered Lowber more than Amendola.

Do you replace either Lowber, Amendola or Jefferson with Joe Horn? Why? That would make him the 5th receiver who would not even be active on game day.

Obviously, Horn is not going to replace TO.

Horn is not going to replace Crayton.

Can Horn replace Hurd or Austin? He may be better than either guy, but he doesn't play special teams. They do. At this point we aren't that sure that Horn still is better than either guy. He has lost a lot due to injuries that last few years. If he is brought in it won't be until after week 1.

Dallas will play Thursday and I think that will go a very long way in determing if Dallas keeps 5 or 6 WR and if we look to the wavier wire or not. I wish the best for both Amendola and Jefferson may the best man win

The key is to see what Dallas will do with Stanback and/or Austin. They both could go on the PUP list but would not be eligible to come back until the 7th game of the season.

Stanback will most likely play with a harness, the same type that Chad Johnson is going to play with so expect him on the roster. Because Stanback and Austin probably will not play in the opener then we keep at least six through that game.

I could see Austin going on the PUP list and if so then both Amendola and Jefferson make the squad. If not, then this last preseason game will determine who makes the sixth WR.

As to Horn, he isn't worth even Lowber anymore. If he was there would be teams like Cincy jumping to get him. As to Boldin, Philly offered two #1s for him and Arizona turned it down, so forget him, it isn't going to happen.

The other item to consider is trades which would be to numerous to consider.

Neither Austin or Stanback can be put on the PUP list because they have both participated in training camp. They can go on IR or the active roster.

They could be nasty gunners, which we lack. We have plenty of punt returners

When people claim he can be Wes Welker, thats where they lost me

Whats with fellow Cowboys fans getting *****y? Did Horn steal your purse and Lil Buddy got it back? Or you cant wait for the season

Lowber has never played the game! You expect him to be a gunner and blow people up? I doubt his tackling skills are very good at all.
