Cleveland sounds likely if its a purely football decision, they already have a lot of the pieces in place to make them sucessful plus they are almost a carbon copy of pittsburgh personal & gameplan wise.

The memory gets foggy at this age but didn't Cowher play in Cleveland for a short time as a special teams player back in the day?

How are you going to stop us now? We've got one of the greatest coaches of all time. Look what he did with Pittsburgh over the long haul, keeping them winning while the owners refused to spend. We've got an owner that will spend whatever it takes. You can't imagine the carnage we're going to inflict on the league

What's the matter, your super smart coach who works his guts out can't get it done? Washed up old POS.

Cowher to the Commanders isn't likely, for a couple of reasons...

1. The owner is Daniel Synder

2. He would prefer something closer to his North Carolina home, i.e. the "Carolina" Panthers. John Fox is definitely on the hot seat down there.

+1 :)

I disagree. I live in NC and Fox is very well liked and highly thought of by the fans and the media here. He is one of the top HCs in the league but injuries have killed the Panthers the last few years. I don't know who thinks he is on the "hot seat" but it isn't anyone around here.

If the timing would have been better he would have taken the UNC job but Butch Davis was available before Cowher was so he got the job.

Could happen... the 'Skins pay boatloads of dough for their headcoaches, and Cowher would be the best availible if he came out of retirement.

Cowher said he wanted to spend time with his kids and wife, but we all know the drill. We all want time off but maybe not to that extent that he now has. I am sure if cowher could have it in a perfect world he could coach AND have time to see him daughters and wife. That will never happen; Cowher loves this game too much. He will be back coaching in the next two years I think, and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he went to the skins. They are about to be in disarray if they are not already, and Cowher has an ego big enough to think he can fix them.

I just want to see how well he does without those awesome coordinators he had in Pittsburgh that helped to make him an IMHO overrated coach.

THere is no way - after working with the Rooneys- that Chin would have anything to do with the Mad Dwarf.

Unfortunately, I can see it. It's certainly close enough to his Carolina home, if compared to Cleveland. Out of the three, I expect that Snyder would throw anything it would take, short of Fed Ex field to get him. The other two possibilities would not. The wildcard here may be the Giants.

I don't see Danny Boy letting any other coach than Gibbs have the kind of authority that Cowher will apparently be demanding, though... particularly not when giving Gibbs all that authority hasn't worked out too well...

Commanders fans already wanting to run Gibbs out of town??? :laugh2:

First the 'ol ball coach and then the great HOFer himself. I wonder how long it'll take Cowher to get run out if he's next in line?

Of all the NFC teams named, Carolina may have enough players to do the switch to the 3-4 more smoothly, DC would have to to really re-work their line and LB. As much as I would like to say Cleveland, I don't think he would do that to Rooney.

 Thank you!

Just what I said; a person from PA who is level-headed enough to see really how good (or average) Cowher is.

People forget how maligned and ****-on this guy would have been had he choked that SB two years ago, like he pretty much did with all those damn AFC championship games.

Let him go to the 'Skins and let him try to be their savior. It will probably work out as "well" as the Joe Gibbs revival. :laugh2: :laugh2: :gassy2:

I got it. And it was funny.

I don't want Cowher's there. I think he's better than average. I'd rather Danny boy hire some hot college coach who will promptly fall on his arse.

Anyone who takes the Skin's job the next few years is in for rough sledding. I wouldn't go there. Even a few million would not be worth it to me if I was a coach with Cowher's rep. He can probably work as a HC until he's 70 even with half way good results. The Skin's job is gonna be hard on reputations for awhile. You guys have to get out of draft jail.
