The Commanders have issued a statement on their official team website denying a Profootballtalk.com report that owner Daniel Snyder has already met with Bill Cowher regarding a head-coaching job for 2008.

"No one at the Washington Commanders has had any meetings or discussions with Bill Cowher or anyone else regarding any coaching position with the Commanders," the statement reads. A likely response. The 'Skins would never admit that Joe Gibbs might be on his way out after the coming season.

I seriously dont get the cowher love to be honest. he was there a LONG time and the team was nothing more than mediocre most of the time he was there. Even the year they won the superbowl they were far from the best team in the league IMO. I like cowher, but I dont think he is a top tier coach.

same about peyton.he had reggie bush fall into his lap which is completely fishy still to me this day,and got brees.the defense is putrid.The cream will rise to the top and the cinderella slippers will be returned,back to the lunchbags mr.

I think people are forgetting that Cowher's best friend is Marty Shottenheimer. Cowher is known as being a loyal guy and probably doesn't appreciate the way that Marty was treated by Danny...

I think that Carolina is a distinct possibility if the Panthers falter again. Add in the fact that Cowher wanted to go home to North Carolina...
