I agree with those two that Wades tweet was as much a shot at Jerry as it was Garrett.

Funny how guys that leave the Cowboys and say standard speak about an organization are great testimony for that leadership, but those that don't are just holding a grudge. Crayton had a successful career anyway you look at it, for how and where he was drafted. He surely didn't suck. Kevin Ogletree. A Garrett hand picked boy did suck on the other hand.

But were they good after that season? Davis went down fast after 2007. It was really his only good year. The right tackle position was always unsettled. I know Colombo seemed to be a fan favorite, but he wasn't that good. I do think Adams was solid and got somewhat of a bad rap at times. Gurode was okay.

Colombo was the uncontested starter for a number of years. I am not saying they were great, but they weren't bad from about 2007-2009.

A lot of people have no reason to respect Wade Phillips as a head coach.

Probably just because he is the only coach to never lead his team to the NFL promise land. FYI neither did Parcells while he was here. But to assume JG didn't have respect for Wade Phillips is just wrong. Why anybody would think they know how JG respected or felt about Wade is just mind blowing. So JG changed the plays after he was made the HC while the team was in obvious turmoil. Yep, he definitely dissed Wade.

Jon Kitna threw I think 12 plus INTs and 6 fumbles in the games he started. Romo had like 7 and no fumbles and the numbers on average were similar. The main difference was the defense actually produced 24 TOs while prior to that, they had only 4.

Romo got injured as well, which explains the playbook changes, but I don't remember it being more explosive, but they did change things up going max protect way more.

The team won, because Jerry went buck wild and the defense played with less risk and had nothing to lose. It often happens for interim coaches.

We are way past that stage now, with Garrett having total control. He still sucks. The end. Move on...

I hope nothing but pure failure for Jason Garrett and the only job he can get in the future is training cambodians' how to wrestle alligators at a petting zoo.

Very good point. Every year someone gets their hopes up because their team went on a 4-5 game winning streak to close out the season but more times than not they won because the pressure was off and no one expected anything.

Aside from his drop against the Giants, Crayton was a very serviceable player in Dallas. Don't understand the hatred for him regardless of his mouth.

Ogletree was an undrafted free agent. His career is just about typical no matter how he was acquired.

Good point/post even if it contradicts my X File theories of how JG set this up:D

Gurode, Davis, and Adams were Pro Bowlers in 2007.

2007 was really the only year the offensive line was any good.

Gurode, Davis, Adams, and Colombo all were in decline beginning at the end of that year going into 2008. Kyle Kosier is the only guy who was still playing at a high level.

Exactly, no one talks about the blown call the refs made calling D Ware offsides when he was too fast off the snap on 3rd down in the 1qt. They had the Giants off the field on that play then the very next play Amani Toomer breaks a tackle and scores a Td 7-0 Giants. I always go back to that play not the Crayton drop.

The stuff about brand new playbooks is interesting. Who knows, maybe he did sabotage Wade... or maybe he simply decided to open it up and start taking more chances because Wade's D was a huge failure? Either way, you probably don't become head coach of the Dallas Cowboys without stepping on a few throats along the way, so nothing would really shock me.

But these guys are clowns for wondering why Garrett didn't give Crayton the time of day after he publicly questions the plays during an offensive team meeting. If you have concerns about the offense you bring them up to Garrett in private. NOT in front of the entire offense. That's disrespectful and shows a complete lack or awareness on their part. A football team isn't a democracy and it's not the players' place to publicly question the coach's scheme.

We had atrocious offensive lines in those years.

BS Adams, Gurode, Davis & Colombo were a very good O-Line. The fact is when Wade was HC Garrett didn't mind gambling, but now that he's in HC spot he wants to be more cautious and game plan(and he can't even do that).

Bingo. Really don't care. Wade Phillips was a Bum. Pun intended. If I were the OC and wanted my offense to work harder because they were sucking. I'd be angry if the HC told me no too. You're supposed to have each others backs. Kind of like these two losers did when complaining about Garrett. I also agree that if you have input or you question someones authority, you make it a private matter. Don't put them on blast in front of everyone. I bet what you're not hearing also is the manner in which the questions were asked. Clearly Crayton felt the plays were "Stupid and didn't make sense." He pretty much pointed that out on the air. I'm sure his facial expressions, body language and tone all gave away just that, in front of the whole team in the meetings.

Im not a fan of either Crayton Holly. But Garrett's plays were flat out stupid. So I don't blame them for taking this public. Garrett's plays are stupid and he was hyped up like no other OC who has never, ever called plays before.

Didn't listen to the audio but I believed that Garrett was the problem with the team during Wade's tenure. Garrett should have been canned and should have never, ever been given head coach position. Wade may have been a bum. Garrett was worst because his still around and still bringing forth mediocrity to a once proud football team.
