BS. A WR does not block the DLine; a WR does not attack the Oline; does not defend the pass
Get the point?
We were going downhill fast when we COULD have drafted him.
He would have made little difference
Nope. We were 10-6 the year he would’ve been our ROY. Who knows how far that team would’ve gone with Moss and maybe Jerry wouldn’t have blown it up and moved to Campo—the clear worst coach in Cowboy’s history. Campo played a major role in making us horrible.

Moss was a game/team changer and one of the best ever.

There has been a lot over the years. But the thing most forget is every team does that not just the Cowboys.

Every team in the league is kicking themselves for passing on Tom Brady several times.

Specifically for the Cowboys, it's hard to believe that passing on Randy Moss isn't #1 on the list.
Moss kind of may sense at the time. Passing on a player like Brady, is not scouting fault. So did every team including the patriots. He was not that impressive in College. Taco over Watt was a F’ up.

Trysten Hill was dead in the water the moment you took him. Still have no idea why he was viewed a superior prospect with all his baggage than the guys who went immediately after him: Taylor Rapp, Juan Thornhill, DK Metcalf, Diontae Johnson… Dre’Mont Jones and Kalen Saunders we the next 2 DTs off the board and started a combined 33 games last season.

I’ve questioned Cowboys picks before (what was even the point of Schoonmaker? You don’t take a 25 yo, injured, blocking specialist with a second round pick)… but I’ve never outright claimed a dude is a bust waiting to happen. Hill was an easy call
Hill to me was one of those that two jumped out at you: 1) Why they were so high on them 2) Why it was going to be a surefire failure. Very good toolkit of raw ability. But absolutely no desire, discipline or maturity. As soon as the pick is announced, you are instantly in "hope and prayer" mode

My brother is a Raiders fan and I never let him forget that one.

Or where they passed on drafting Diggs for another cornerback who’s already flamed out of the league.
Ruggs never would have sniffed Lamb. However he is kind of an interesting (probably not the appropriate word) what if. He started to to make impact before he killed that women. Probably would have had a 1k season that year. I think he could have become a Desean Jackson caliber player

When the biggest note on a draft profile is that the coaches didn’t really like him, that is a bigger red flag to me than most injury histories

Desean was a very limited WR due to his size. I think Ruggs could have been a much more balanced WR. He was 6’ 190. That’s 20 lbs bigger than Devonta Smith

I saw him as an Isaac Bruce type

What a crock of crap. Anyone with a brain could see how thin and deteriorating the team was getting; thinking ANY WR could have made a real difference is coming from someone that failed Football 101

Did not know that . Montana was what a 3rd rounder . Most teams passed on him .
Remember this was before the West coast offense was developed; looking at it that way Montana did not seem like he would be all that in the pros

Going to a a team with Bill Walsh was a really fortunate break for Montana

Now, now…settle down. I laid out the reasons with the facts, you just aren’t able to accept them.

Moss with Aikman would’ve been prolific. You know this. The drop off in coaching greatly impacted the entire team. We were 10-6 with Ellis. Moss easily accounts for a few more and in the playoffs he The Playmaker, and even old Emmitt would’ve been a handful.

Been a while since I watched Bruce lol. Interesting comp though. I loved Ruggs coming out. He had near legandary speed, but a trait he had that got missed is that is is very very smooth in the open field. There was pretty rac potential. He offered you something in the 5-15 yard range
