**Cundiff Waived as Predicted**Dixon and Suisham resigned

nice work to who predicted this. Kicker is one area we have to improve on this off-season. I don't know if my heart can take another nail-biter season like this.

I never liked Cundiff before this turn,I thought BP didn't either. He did improve his kickoffs, but man I would hold my breath everytime they lined up for a FG. There's no loss here ;)

I remember when we resigned Cundiff and he made that game winner, pple thought he walked on water. It dont matter to me who the kicker is, at this late stage of the season, your not gunna get a Morton Anderson. There all the same, some miss this game, some missed last game, some will miss next game. It makes little difference the name on the jersey so long as he makes the kick on Sunday (or Saturday or Thursday).

I hope Suisham has been working on his kick offs.

Suisham's kickoffs weren't that bad. I don't know who started that rumor, but it's not true. I posted this awhile back but I'll post it again, since it's relevant. A Small sampling of kickoffs between Cundiff and Suisham:

Cundiff kickoffs vs. Denver:

3-B.Cundiff kicks 63 yards from DAL 30 to DEN 7. 45-R.Alexander to DEN 28 for 21 yards (31-R.Williams). Return left side of the field.

3-B.Cundiff kicks 63 yards from DAL 30 to DEN 7. 45-R.Alexander to DEN 16 for 9 yards (29-K.Davis). Return middle.

3-B.Cundiff kicks 60 yards from DAL 30 to DEN 10. 45-R.Alexander to DEN 30 for 20 yards (20-W.Pile). Return middle.

3-B.Cundiff kicks 69 yards from DAL 30 to DEN 1. 45-R.Alexander to DEN 24 for 23 yards (18-T.Copper; 29-K.Davis). Return middle.

Cundiff Average: 63.75

Suisham's kickoffs vs. Philly:

4-S.Suisham kicks 57 yards from DAL 30 to PHI 13. 29-R.Hood to PHI 28 for 15 yards (29-K.Davis, 55-R.Fowler).

4-S.Suisham kicks 68 yards from DAL 30 to PHI 2. 29-R.Hood to PHI 23 for 21 yards (29-K.Davis).

4-S.Suisham kicks 60 yards from DAL 30 to PHI 10. 29-R.Hood to PHI 35 for 25 yards (55-R.Fowler).

4-S.Suisham kicks 68 yards from DAL 30 to PHI 2. 29-R.Hood to PHI 30 for 28 yards (33-N.Jones).

Suisham Average: 63.25

Cundiff averaged a half yard more, there really isn't that much difference.

I think Cundiff kicks it higher. I was dissapointed with Suisham's height on the kickoffs, not so much the distance.

The Enforcer returns... ;)

Don Martin, Wallaceburg, Ontario: Some team will get a quality young man in Shaun Suisham. As his high school athletic director, I can tell you a few things. He kicked field goals of 57 and 58 yards on back-to-back weeks in the semis and finals in the high school playoffs, and led the team in tackles and was an enforcer on our junior hockey team. Not many kickers fit that mold.

Mickey:Nope, you're right, and not sure the Cowboys are done with him. Once they get healthy again, and might not need every healthy body on the practice squad for scout-team purposes, I could see them bringing him back and possibly getting him ready for next year when Cundiff becomes a free agent and his minimum will rise to $545,000. Thanks for the info. I will file it away.

Novak or Suizum is not any better.

But Cundiff has probably lost all confidence now.

Novak is very good but his KO's are somewhat short...

Glad to see Cundiff go, but not sure we're getting an upgrade (more of an unknown). I'd rather have seen a veteran kicker. Oh well, let's see what happens!

Happy Trails Haley Joel Cundiff....
Now you can go back and make "The Sixth Sense II" where you can utter your famous "I see missed field goals" line.

So are we still on for the cage match between Cundiff and LA tonight on WWE like I wanted???

:lmao: Now that's funny... I don't care who you are.

More problems

Signing Suisham automatically denotes more problems? Not sure if that is what you were getting at, but I thought Suisham, if given the chance, would have ended up better than Haley Joel Cundiff.

We didn't even get to see what the kid has really. Even if he stinks the place up (which I seriously doubt), how is that somehow worse than Cundiff. I hope this kid works his butt off during the off season and comes out looking like a million bucks.

Now that he has another shot, he's gonna give it 110%, count on it.

Just not a good time to switch kickers again.

We need to block better. If the kicker can't getthe ball off it doesn't matter if we have viniterri back there.
