If there were ever any doubt that Jerry is a genius, just point to all the talk and conjecture and hand wringing going on about a nerve from a second round pick who has never played a down of NFL football. The dude could sell sand in the desert.

For the humor side...a person who chooses not to understand 'Jerry talk.'

Hey, Bud.

Smith's progress is definitely encouraging; at this point he's already one of the better athletes on the team, as I've previously opined.

He'll get to 95% almost certainly, and he'll still have the rookie on-field learning curve to overcome -- coverages, reads, chemistry, etc.

If he gets to 100%......................OMG (if Lee stays healthy).

Thanks for the update, from a REAL doctor, not these But-I-Stayed-At-the-Holiday-Inn-Express doctors. :D

All of this is completely wrong.

His leg is progressing exactly as the Cowboys thought it would.

He was a long shot to play last season and everyone said that.

Though it did turn out he could have played againt GB if not on IR.
All of this is completely wrong.........IYO

His leg is progressing exactly as the Cowboys thought it would.......Yeah sure it is :lmao:

He was a long shot to play last season and everyone said that........not jerry, he said later in season and then playoffs. And who is "everyone"
I didnt say that lol and I am part of everyone lol.

Though it did turn out he could have played againt GB if not on IR.........so they put him on IR thinking he couldnt play, but .......they knew exactly
how he was doing?? the 2 dont exactly fit together.

If his leg had progressed as they thought it would, he would have been out of the brace 2-3 months ago and he would be wrapping up all the necessary rehab and physical therapy putting him on track to fully participate in all offseason activities with full control of his foot.

I don't buy any talk of him playing with the brace. You just don't put players on the field in the NFL who aren't fully healthy or who can't control a vital part of their body.
Jerry does.
Romo in the wash game, and he would have in seattle, but no way down to the field, or they had him locked in.
Dez and his foot, etc etc.
Witten with spleen injury, if they can walk they play.

When the Cowboys drafted Smith in the second round, they expected this to be a redshirt season. The Notre Dame product sustained nerve damage in his left knee after tearing the ACL and the MCL during the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1.

Smith still is running with a brace on his foot.

But Jones had held out hope Smith might help the Cowboys this season. Jones said Tuesday the Cowboys would love to keep Smith available for a possible Super Bowl run, hoping the nerve will refire, but they can’t afford the roster spot.

Thanks, but just don't ask him to punt -- needs to have great dorsiflexion strength for that.

Everything else should be fine.

Well sure anyone with any common sense would know he would not play in 2016.
But I read several times, about jerry thinking he would play .
If it was up to jerry Jaylon would have played, but he got over ruled by coaches and SJ.

some medical staff said it was possible he'd play but it didn't work out that way.
that JJones held out hope wasn't an insane position but certainly a long shot

Please trade him ASAP. This nonsense has gone on long enough. Is anybody else tired of seeing and talking about the name " ROMO"?

Despite what you want to believe, what I said is true. Go back and read what the doctor said last year. You will see all I did was post what was reported at the time. By spring OTA's, everyone will see his progress. Just the simple fact he could have played against GB should speak volumns about where he is at in his rehab now.

We'll all settle for "everything else" and leave the punting to Jones.

Jaylon Smith is a question mark at this point...just too much unknown about his recovery to venture anything but guesses.

But our LB corps is solid as it is. Hitchens had a great year. Lee is a stud and Wilson is coming on. We can add some depth players to fortify our special teams-- BUT if Jaylon gets healthy and mans the middle-- the athleticism in the heart of your D goes off the charts, and you push Hitchens to #1 reserve LBer should anyone get dinged up... would love to see Jaylon get back to where he was before the injury

There is no more entertaining Owner in the NFL then JJones.
On JSmith he'll play at a high level.

Jerry was a lot more "entertaining" when his team was winning championships. As for Smith, it's not even a given he'll play at all much less at a high level.

I guess I'm over Jerry's chatter at this point. I'd rather see a silent owner in the box at the Super Bowl than Jerry seeking every microphone he can find, to essentially say nothing.
