Depends on which team is the biggest threat to the Cowboys. If Washington and Philly are playing chances are I'm hoping for the Philly lose. In the end who ever helps Dallas the most.

I didn't say it would in every instance, I said "take care of your own business, things tend to work out fine." Look it up.

A good job...but not good enough obviously. Why is it Philly has only one division loss? Because Dallas lost to them, thereby not taking care of business well enough. If they did, Dallas would be 12-4 and Philly 10-6.

I'll say that Philly had a phenom year and Dallas didn't take care of business, obviously, because they didn't beat the Eagles at all, and, as I've ALREADY stated in my original post, if Dallas doesn't take care of their own business, it won't matter what the others do. Thanks for the example.

That's not a combination....it's a result of what I, again, already said...Dallas' success (takin' care of their business) will be why division opponents fail.

Take control of your own destiny....or wait around for a handout. Which way for you grasshopper?

So a perfect season is the only answer then ...... it makes no sense to hope other division rivals lose a few games so that perfection isn't necessary........?

And it makes no sense to hope for a little help late in the season when we find that we haven't achieved perfection ........?

So you are telling us that late in the season, if the Cowboys find themselves in a postion where the Giants have to beat the Eagles in order to make the playoffs that you wouldn't root for the Giants ...........your attitude would be "Screw the Cowboys - they should have done a better job of taking care of business so I don't even care if the Giants win and they make the playoffs?"

You have put a ridiculous twist on this. No one has ever said the team shouldn't do their best or fans shouldn't expect it - that we somehow should just accept average results and merely hope to sneak into the playoffs based on the losses of other teams and getting a "handout".

You are reaching WAY out to grab onto that.

I agree, however the teams I love to route against the most is:

Commanders-Eagles tied slight edge towards the Commanders becaues I live in the DC area.
And a very close third.-Giants.

I hate all three --actually.

I know it's poor sportsmanship, but I do find myself pulling for INJURIES most of the time.

As far as games that help Dallas.....I will not root for the eagles under any senario. If we absolutely need them to win, I will not watch.

I would not root for them if they were playing terrorist pre, post or on 9/11.:disseags: :disseags: :disseags:

I don't mind the Giants as much as the others. I'd probably pull for the Giants over either the Skins or the Eagles.

To be honest, I like to see the Skinz win. A great season, for me, is to see the Skinz go unbeaten against averybody but us. I like to see us win both regular season games and I love to see us beat them in the playoffs. If they could manage to go 14-2 during the season and then get beaten by us in the conference championship, that's about as good as it gets for me.

I hate the Eagles. I want them to lose every game. I never want to see them win. If they are playing an intersquade game, I want to see both sides lose. I hate the Eagles.

Gotta pull for the worst team, even if that does mean pulling for the Skins.

Prior to 9/11 I had a friend named Marc (49ers fan) who happens to hate ASU and Notre Dame. They were playing on the upcoming Saturday and I asked him who he was going to root for.

He said, "terrorists."

I wouldn't reply the same way after 9/11, but at the time....

I understand completely.

If the Eagles team plane were to crash it would be a tragedy, but if it took out a lot of Eagle fans as it crashed that might be acceptable....

Its a sickness but what can you do.
I grew up with pre-free agency football and fan hatred was much more respectable:)~

I would have fist fought buddy Ryan for certain if I had seen him in Dallas at one point.

I go for the team that helps the boys . But I really hate the giants and there little fade away shot they do it is really hard towatch without beaking my t.v. So out of all three I think if I hate the giants the most, skins, then eagles. Now if you ask me whos fans suck I would go with the SKINS 4 sure.

You're making stuff up as you go now, and getting away from the original point. I answered all of your previous queries...I'm not spending an eternity answering every conceivable twist or turn, or you putting 'I don't care' words in my mouth. Those are your words, not mine.

I never said I didn't care, I never said screw the Cowboys...you have. Hey, if you think it's a big deal Dallas backs into the playoffs...good for you. Maybe it's you that's a bit naive there....I know reality in the history of teams that do back in most generally don't do well. I don't waste time on couldas and wouldas...if you do...great, more power to ya, I've got what they call a 'life'. Things out of my hands are exactly that, and hoping for something different is just that too...hope. It's their job...not mine.

Sorry I don't march in lock step with you...you can hope this or that all you want...it means nothing...it achieves nada.

I've got news for you...no matter how much you hope this or that...you HAVE to accept the results, regardless if they're average, poor, or great. Nothing you can do to change that.

Now that I've answered your questions...why haven't you answered mine? Well, are you a take charge, control your own destiny type, or the average joe that counts on the ifs and buts in this world?

Yeah, you said as long as they take care of business, which means that the only assurance is that they win every game because if they even lose a couple and someone else loses one or none that means they haven't taken care of business .......... pretty unrealistic expectation.

The original point was who would you root for, and you have said no one, and have stuck by that regardless of the situation.

Accordingly, if the Cowboys need a victory by the Giants, Eagles or Skins in order to get into the playoffs then you still wouldn't be rooting for those teams to win, preferring instead to just say that it was all in the hands of the Cowboys ............ tell me where the misinterperetation is there?

Let's go with this logic ....... since it's out of your hands if the Cowboys win or lose then it follows that you don't even hope the Cowboys win .........

This is kind of contradictory to your saying you cared before. After all, why would you care if you reject the idea of holding out hope?

By the way, your "coulda, woulda shoulda" comment is pretty goofy considering no one is talking about looking back after the fact - this whole chat is concerned with looking at games about to be played.

Either you are full of BS - because I feel pretty certain that there are things out of your control that you still "hope" happen almost every day of your life - or you are a miserable cynic with a sad life.

In case you didn't notice - hope is exactly what fans have and cling to. It's what makes us watch the games. It's what keeps us tied to a particular team.

Even more than that, it's what gives us reason to get up in the morning ......... the "hope" that life will allow us the chance to live and enjoy ourselfs - that it won't take a sour turn and we wont die in an accident or have a heart attack ...... the hope that opportunities will open up to us.

Is there really no hope in your life?

Generally its whatever helps us the most.

BUT, I definately hate the Commanders the most, then probably the Eagles, and then the Giants.

depends on the standings. I always will hope the outcome helps us in some way.

other than that, a tie is always a fun thing to root for!

:hammer: I always root for a tie 1st, then whoever's loss better helps the Cowboys

the only division foe that I hate is the Commanders, don't really feel much for the Giants, except for Shockey alone almost pushes them into that hate territory, I have no idea why I don't really hate the Eagles either, idk, I just hate the Stinks w/ a passion and just merely dislike the Gspots and E-gals

Wrong again....at least you're consistant...consistantly wrong.

I didn't say misinterperetation [sic]...I said you're making things up that I've said, like, 'Cowboys suck', and 'screw them'. you've said that, not I.

Can't help yourself can ya? You don't have the brain matter to understand so ya just keep making this stuff up. If something's out of my hands..it's that...out of my hands period. Doesn't mean anything else.

Wow..you're getting more inane as it goes. Woulda coulda shoulda fits perfectly for those that sit there and look at how it will effect Dallas on the upcoming outcome of a divisional game. Duh.

Oh..in my everday life...well...football doesn't qualify in my everyday life. For a loser who's sitting in their mother's basement in there Cowboy jammies beating on a keyboard and trying to tell someone how to run their lives maybe...but not mine.

I watch fotball for the entertainment value, because that's what it is, entertainment. I don't equate any of it as a life or death stiuation like you do. I can see you're more of an extremist than anything...going from rooting for the Eagles or Commanders to dieing or having a heart attack. Good grief man, grow some and get a life.

Still evading my question I see....so the answer is clear. Feel free to pm me your address so I can send you the handout you're waiting for.
