I got to go with anyone over the Skins:starspin

You are right. There is no other team I hate more than Washington. Even if a Commanders victory would help Dallas, I still can't make myself pull for them. There is nothing better than seeing the Commanders get the snot beat out of them;)

I am the same way. It pains me to pull for the skins the slightest bit. If it is a situation where I have to, then I just wont watch the game at all.

Hello...

the Eagles have been our bane for the better part of a decade.

Sure, I hate the Commanders. But year-in and year-out, the Eagles have won the NFC East.

Pluck the Eagles! And when that job is done - I'll get back to concentrating on hating the Commanders.

For me... its never about hating on one team to lose in the division. Its ALWAYS been about standings and seedings.

I could easily root for the skins if it helped our position in some way, shape or form.

Its only sports people. The goal is to position yourself to win. Not to hate on teams. If you do.. then you become a commoner... like the ones that hate us and have nothing else except hatred for the cowboys and no wins or love for their team.... someone here has a "...hatred..." sig line... cant think of their name ;)

Wrong again....at least you're consistant...consistantly wrong.

I didn't say misinterperetation [sic]...I said you're making things up that I've said, like, 'Cowboys suck', and 'screw them'. you've said that, not I.

Can't help yourself can ya? You don't have the brain matter to understand so ya just keep making this stuff up. If something's out of my hands..it's that...out of my hands period. Doesn't mean anything else.

Wow..you're getting more inane as it goes. Woulda coulda shoulda fits perfectly for those that sit there and look at how it will effect Dallas on the upcoming outcome of a divisional game. Duh.

Oh..in my everday life...well...football doesn't qualify in my everyday life. For a loser who's sitting in their mother's basement in there Cowboy jammies beating on a keyboard and trying to tell someone how to run their lives maybe...but not mine.

I watch fotball for the entertainment value, because that's what it is, entertainment. I don't equate any of it as a life or death stiuation like you do. I can see you're more of an extremist than anything...going from rooting for the Eagles or Commanders to dieing or having a heart attack. Good grief man, grow some and get a life.

Still evading my question I see....so the answer is clear. Feel free to pm me your address so I can send you the handout you're waiting for.

You spewed a lot of words without actually sayibng much of anything.

The bottom line is that you have said you don't concern yourself with the other teams or anything other than the Cowboys, so it follows that you don't even bother to hope things go the Cowboys way in the event a playoff spot depends on one of the other teams winning.

You also said hope doesn't mean anything - why hope for things that are out of your hands. Since the Cowboys winning or losing is out of your hands, then it follows that you don't even hope the Cowboys win.

Now, instead of speweing nonsense that has nothing to do with what is said - tell me where this is wrong.

I didn't say it would in every instance, I said "take care of your own business, things tend to work out fine." Look it up.
....
A good job...but not good enough obviously. Why is it Philly has only one division loss? Because Dallas lost to them, thereby not taking care of business well enough. If they did, Dallas would be 12-4 and Philly 10-6.
....
I'll say that Philly had a phenom year and Dallas didn't take care of business, obviously, because they didn't beat the Eagles at all, and, as I've ALREADY stated in my original post, if Dallas doesn't take care of their own business, it won't matter what the others do. Thanks for the example.
....
That's not a combination....it's a result of what I, again, already said...Dallas' success (takin' care of their business) will be why division opponents fail.
....
Take control of your own destiny....or wait around for a handout. Which way for you grasshopper?

I agree with jackrussell on this one. It is the Cowboys job to control their own destiny. I, for one, hate having to depend on another team's failure in order to get into the playoffs. One week, we a division leaders. The following week, we lose, another team becomes the division front runner, and we are at the bottom of the playoff pool, needing someone else to lose, because either we lost to the team that took our spot or some other team with the same record as us has a better division win percentage...Why can't we be the team that locks up a playoff spot in week 12 instead of scrambling to get in, watching the scoreboard during week 17 trying to see who just scored and calculating the percentages and such....just win early and you won't have to worry about that. I know you are not going to win all games, but I go into every game expecting us to win, knowing that we will if we execute the plays that are called and avoid costly mistakes. But in all losses, the reason for the loss was because the team didn't execute correctly. Had we executed, we would not have lost the game in the first place.

But in the occasion when we do not control our own destiny, and therefor must rely on the failures of another team to squeak in, due to failure to execute, then I will root against the team that could remove us from playoff contention or the team with the best record.

I don't mind the Giants as much as the others. I'd probably pull for the Giants over either the Skins or the Eagles.

To be honest, I like to see the Skinz win. A great season, for me, is to see the Skinz go unbeaten against averybody but us. .
Blasphemy!!!!

Eh, what the hell.

When divisional rivals play one another, I root for neither team to win/lose. I just watch the game.

If we take care of our business, we'll be fine.

That's easy.

The question was- When division rivals meet, who do you root for?

I said none....I expect the Cowboys to take care of their own business.

Only an idiot couldn't understand that and then make it more than it is.

Don't ask anymore questions til you're man enough to answer the single one I've asked you.

Ill probably never say this again, but I agree with you.

If we take care of our end, it doesn't matter what everyone else does...

For me this is simple. Say Dallas is 11-2 and the Eagles are 11-2 and are about to play the Commanders who are you pulling for? Sorry I hope the Eagles lose that game. That is not giving Dallas anything but an inside edge and a bit of breathing room.

Wouldn't the obvious choice be the team with the worse record?

I dont think so, I just can't ever see myself pulling for the Skins at all

i would have thought so - anything that helps the cowboys standings i'm ok with. if the skins were playing the giants and and the skins had the better record and we needed a loss, i'd root for the giants.

if the skins were playing the giants and the giants had a better record, i'd simply root against the giants in that case. : )

in any event, i go by record and how the win/loss could help our own standings.

i alwats root for whoever has the worst record as it makes the competition as a whole worse.

I have found myself not hoping the Giants lose on occasion but when it comes to the stinks and eagles its like asking me whether i prefer feces or urine.

By the way, good job of avoiding everything I discussed.

I always root against the Commanders unless it absolutely helps the Cowboys, and I mean direct help not maybe help them down the line somewhere. Living in Commander country, the last thing I want is the Commanders in the playoffs or SB period.

Between the Eagirls and the GIants more ofte than not, all things being equal I would root for the Giants. The Buddy Ryan days still linger!
