Current cap space

You always find the need to jump to your own conclusions and draw assumptions from thin air.

Did I say they were going to spend it now or that they should sign anyone now or use any draft picks for anything?

Reading is fundamental. I only addressed the players presented in the previous post and added Williams as another player to also have in mind when trying to guess what this FO would use the funds on now or later. That's it.

Now if you're asking the question about signing now vs later... the answer is there is no benefit now unless the FO knows for sure they want Pickens or Williams long term. In that case, you could gamble and guess what the outcome of this year would be specific to their performances and forecast appropriately for their contracts. Possibly you could save some funds but at this point, I don't really see much savings either so I agree with you on that point.

Signing Aubrey now, might save a little incase another kicker is up for being re-signed, but everyone knows he will be paid as the #1 kicker so why not get that out of the way now.

I also would like to see decisions made decisively after the year vs what usually happens in delaying and doing things at the last minute. Another area I do agree with you on.
don't let it get you flustered he does it to everyone and I don't understand why seriously!!!!!

Come to the aid of everyone like your mother hen I think they can handle themselves he answered it now you pile on now I have to come at you Mind your own business He inferred it I can read his post and make my own interpretation and my interpretation is he was implying that Jerry should use it but won't this year like now that is what this whole post is I mean why post how much cap space we have and then other people replied but he won't use it.. Allowed to interpret things and make my own opinion if he doesn't like it he replies but he doesn't need you to have his back I think you like to butting other people's business you like to stir up trouble you're the classic troll guy you just hide it because everyone around thinks you're sharing and hoping this place stay fresh by posting a bunch of nonsense other people wrote and then you link to it and you cause trouble and it gets out of control and you love it you like the drama you are a full on drama king and we know it that is why the word troll is here you post things you know we'll get this type of response like right now nobody needed you to get in the middle of our talk I replied to his post he replied to mine and then there you are putting your two cents in where it wasn't needed.

next....

I want to interpret this as an implication that you feel he should use it this year but won't then that is going to be my reply if you don't like people interpreting things to be more clear you don't have to respond coming at me and saying what your clarity is you could have been more clear in the 1st place...

" if at all this year knowing them"

That sounded like you were implying that they should use it and that not making a big move would be a mistake And if I want to interpret it that way you shouldn't get offended because you can read into a lot from that little statement...

Don’t forget.

At Jerry’s press conference after the trade, he said that the savings from not extending Parsons would return “four or five good players” and not just extensions of our own players.

Also, he said he would turn the two Green Bay picks into “three or four great players”.

So, it seems reasonable to expect a very active off season with external free agents.

Because
1. The Patriots don't run their org like a circus
2. They have a clear vision of what they want to be a team that plays solid complimentary football and hard nosed defense.
3. They are not stuck with an abatross contract being doled out to an average player.
So just pay out the most and a guaranteed Lombard ... bet. Where does that put the NBA?

oh, oh, oh chicken dinner

The Pats stayed aggressive. 1st round QB wasn't working out- so they trade him. Draft another QB in 1st round. Hire a new head coach. Decided in the first year, he wasnt gonna be the answer and fired him. And hired Vrabel.
Are you suggesting a professional football organization should be able to correctly evaluate players & coaches and take action based on those evaluations in less than a decade?

What is this tom foolery you speak of??

The biggest mistake cap-wise was extending Martin and caving to his hold out.
It's not the biggest but it's up there. If he threatened to hold out, they should have let him. It's hard enough to win in this league. Shooting yourself in the foot just makes that much harder.

Between this money and draft picks the defense can be rebuilt in one off season.
I leave the "money" to you guys. I don't have the time to try to parse the "real" numbers. But if we truly could free up those kind of funds, yes it would be possible .... but it would also take some luck.

and once again Jethro showing how incompetent he is as a GM
