Current Draft Order

Columbo is worrying me with his mistakes. So maybe another OT. Proctor needs some playing time to see if he can replace Rivera. Outside of that I think that just maybe the O line is ok. I think we have to look at getting another CB- Henry is not looking that great, is 30 NOW, and Glenn has one foot in the grave. And maybe a real BIG MEAN NASTY NT that eats centers and uses their leg bones for toothpicks would be a good one as well.
Yeah, Henry's bad game wouldn't concern me at all if he were 25, but at 30, it's maybe time to start preparing for the future. We've spent so many 1st rd picks on the defensive side, so I would like to concentrate a bit more on the offensive side.

I still wanna give Watkins a better shot and some time to develope personally.. so I would stay away from FS.

Would it be safe to say that Watkins just needs experience... those are my thoughts... or is there something more?

Give me any combination of these picks and I'd be happy...

Kyle Young Center from Fresno St.
Justin Blaylock OG/OT from Texas
Best OT on the board in the second or third round
LaRon Landry FS from LSU
Frank Okam NT from Texas

OR Top CB in the first and move Henry to FS

This HAS to be a MEAT AND POTATOES draft!!!

I love his last name, but I like his game better. A lot better in fact.

if we do end up picking in the middle somewhere, my pre-combine wishlist would include either Levi Brown or Jake Long, both offensive linemen.

If not, OL, then I would hope Dwayne Jarrett would fall to us. He's probably not going to come close to his last year numbers, so I'm hoping he slides a little, but his stock could also skyrocket if he runs a good 40.

Number 3 on the wishlist would be a stud CB.

I totally agree with wanting to take an Olineman or Jarret if he falls. I don't want anymore picks on this defense though. The Cowboys have already wasted enough picks on it. I think the problem is the person calling the defense. I am absolutley convinced that if Freeny played opposite of Ware, they still wouldn't get pressure.

Geez, if we stay on this pace and finish up 8-8 and only get the 17th pick, I'm gonna be pretty mad.

has a team ever had consecutive number one overall pics?
Yes, 5 times.

1999 & 2000 Cleveland Browns, Tim Couch & Courtney Brown.

1994 & 1995 Cincinnati Bengals, Dan Wilkinson & Ki-Jana Carter.

1986 & 1987 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Bo Jackson & Vinny Testaverde.

1939 & 1940 St. Louis Cardinals, Ki Aldrich & George Cafego.

1936 & 1937 Philadelphia Eagles, Jay Berwanger (1st ever draft pick) & Sam Francis.

lol apparently it never works out for the better then

Consdiering jackson did not play with the bucs, its pretty much true that no team that ever had back to back #1's ever did well. Looking at that entire list, not one of those players were ever worth a #1. But then the reason why those teams were picking at that position was that they stunk from the field to the front office as those picks showed.

Here's a trivia question.

The Cowboys have had 3 overall #1 draft picks. Who are they?

They would have had a 4th overall #1 draft pick but the pick was "voided." Why?

Bo was definately worth the overall # 1 and I think Jay Berwanger was too.

Aikman was one; I think Lilly was another; maybe TD for the third?

Cannot judge Berwanger since he never played pro ball; Jackson - I don't know. His career was pretty short.

Bob Lilly was the 13th pick of 1961, Tony Dorsett was the 2nd overall behind Ricky Bell of USC to Tampa to play for his college coach.

Bo was amazing pre injury though. One of the best I ever saw.
