Let’s not act like Gregory wouldn’t be putting up numbers too this year. #11 makes everyone look good. But at a much higher contract than Armstrong and Fowler combined, and he is starting to look injury prone too after getting hurt again. It’s still the Special Teams and knack for plays though that I love most about Armstrong. Had another one last week saving our rookie’s fumble. You can’t teach that, either have it or you don’t.
Ya but Armstrong is replacing his production at one fifth the hit is the take away

Gregory is a waste of talent. It shows you can take all the measurables, SPARQ, etc. and flush em, because heart and work ethic are paramount.

This right here makes or breaks someone. I tell my Son all the time you give it all you have while your training if its 60 min or 6 min you give it all you have and be consistent in your preparation and attitude (stay positive) you can over come 90% of any deficiencies.

Armstrong may be better at football… but he can’t smoke weed at his house legally like Gregory can.

That’s what was important to Randy.

I do miss Gregory but Armstrong has been so productive this year

that man puts so much effort in his play you can just tell he fart a little bit when he gets off the line and gets in the backfield

Thanks for sharing the comparison.
I think it has proven out that his leaving was a good thing.
Many on here pointed out that Armstrong compared favorably to Gregory and was more affordable to the cap. I like our depth and youth on the DL.

Didn’t read through every comment, so sorry if already said…..

It’s great that things have worked out in this regard, but it was absolutely NOT the first choice of this FO. They lucked into it.

I’ll take the W but it’s not much more than further evidence that if we ever do actually win, it’ll be in spite of leadership, not because of it.

To be blunt, I’m glad Gregory is gone.

It’s a joint effort on the D-line, but Armstrong has played well.

Dorance Armstrong:

Pass Rush Snaps: 151

Pass Rush Productivity: 8.9%
Total Pressures: 21
QB Hits (via PFF): 5

Sacks are great! But Gregory has still been the better player. You can make a case that Armstrong has been the better value, but let's not get it twisted.

I clearly remember a lot of you guys being up in arms at losing Gregory.

He was never good. He was never an impact player. He was never reliable.

The best thing he ever did for the Cowboys was save Jerry from himself and renege on that contract.
He’s a talented player but clearly a mental case that wasted his prime years. His penalty vs SF was one of the dumbest most selfish things I have seen in football.

I've always been an Armstrong fan but contracts aside - Gregory is the better pass rusher as of right now. But factor in contracts AND age (Armstrong can still get better at age 25), it's a no brainer...Armstrong wins
