D. Ware or Micah in their prime, who you taking?

Micah is a LB converted to DE

DeMarcus was a DE converted to a 3-4 OLB.

Comparing apples to apples, it would only be fair to compare their first four seasons while acknowledging that Micah's 4th is not yet complete.

Micah is more dynamic. He can be lined up at almost any position.
Although DeMarcus was very quick, Micah has world class speed. Micah also possesses amazing football instincts.

On the other hand, unlike Micah, DeMarcus is just as productive in December as any other month, even better.

In DeMarcus's first four seasons he had five 3-sack games and three of them were in December while another was Thanksgiving.

It's a no-fault issue but, all the same, DeMarcus didn't miss a game in his first four seasons.

I quote the great philosopher, Sir Deion Luwynn Sanders....."Both".

Demarcus Ware and it's honestly not even close. This question got asked a couple years ago and it was like 20 pages of people just crapping on Ware. That he was a "no show" and bad leader.

Micah is everything people said Ware was. I don't even need to think about it, I'd choose Ware in a 3-4 or a 4-3.

If you want sacks be the all end all I would go with Parsons. If you want a complete player I take Ware easily.

Ware was a great player, but I want to see what Parsons will do with a good end opposite of him. I think Parsons gets double teamed more than Ware ever did.

I know I ask a lot of questions on here (cue jokes 3, 2,1), this is probably the hardest you'll ever have to answer! Both great pass rushers, talented, and fierce off the ball. Who you taking in their prime?? Please give your thoughts

Micah recently mentioned he was in his prime so....
I have to say -- Micah is violent. Ware was not. Micah wants blood. Ware was more all business. I love Ware, but he didn't get the D hyped like Micah does.

Micah legitimately reminds me of Lawrence Taylor - yes kids, I saw him play. He is disruptive in a way that Ware was not.

D Ware. Can’t really compare because they played different positions and different formations. Im still believing 3-4 would benefit Parsons.

Too early in Micah’s career to say.

This thread consensus seems to be leaning towards Ware, but I know it would be more evenly split if fans weren’t so obsessed with Micah’s yapping and podcast and whatever.

On the field, on a play by play basis, they are essentially evenly matched.

Also Ware did this for 9-10 years and got himself into the HOF because of it. All that talk that Ware never showed up in big moments, he was a big factor in why the Broncos won against the Patriots with consistent pressure on Brady and even got to Cam and kept pressure on him along with Miller.

Micah can't even keep pace for 4 quarters let alone a decade in the league.

Ware was also playing next to prime Von Miller. And prime Derek Wolfe. And prime Sylvester Williams.

Those three guys would be starting for the Cowboys right now.

If your primary metric is “consistent pressure”, Micah gets that. He has been near the top in QB pressures every year since he was drafted.

Last I checked it was more than a TD in PPG less for opponents with Micah on the field vs without.

He is an impact player and a top-3 pass rusher in the league.

Dlaw does NOT deserve to be in that list and honestly Tolbert is questionable

YES when it mattered against Brady it was DeWare making the plays
What has Micah done in the playoffs
Pressures is not as important as some claim

You're as bad as those who used to fuss about Ware not making sacks "when it counted." Fans gets their panties in a bunch about a player and can't see straight. Parsons is going hard throughout the game, fighting through blocks, running full speed and constantly getting pressure. Yet, some of you are going to dismiss that because he gets tired and has a podcast.

I don't understand it. It's just inane. It's like the anti-Romo crowd that made up a stat, win-or-go-home games, in order to diminish his play. I sometimes think Dallas fans have gotten what they deserve with Jerry Jones mismanagement these last 30 years.
So far Micah is a lot more mouth than getting it done when it matters

Not the hardest at all. Micah, notwithstanding injuries, will be a better player than Ware, and I’m a huge Ware fan.

- .2 seconds faster in the 40. That’s a huge speed gap
- MP is an inch shorter and 20# lighter, but I don’t think that’s a factor. Close enough.
- Micah had more sacks through his first 3 seasons.
- Ware’s 4th year was his best by far, recording 20 sacks. Unfortunately, Micah had no help at the other DE/LB positions this year. When a team only has to worry about one guy on D, his stats will reflect that. Ellis, Ratliff, and James had 23.5 sacks between them in 2008. Nobody except Parsons has had more than 5 sacks this year.

I’m taking Parsons.

Hard to say. Year 4 is when Ware really broke out as a dominate player and sack producer. And I have the complete career of Ware in my head and it's hard to exactly remember years 1-4 in terms of player growth.
Year 3 he got close to 1 sack a game.

Year 4 for Parsons he got injured but is still close to a sack per game.

Somehow, Parsons is more explosive off the edge than Ware, who was no slouch.

Overall, I think Ware was the more complete player off the edge, in terms of pass rush and run defense. But We are still in the early part of Parsons career. Will he continue to grow as a player or is this his max?

Right now Ware of course.....however, if Parsons stops going AWOL against the top offenses and can legitimately start controling games CONSISTENTLY like Watt does, I'll gladly switch my vote to Micah .

Ware was great, but didn't and will not ever, help ua win a SB. Parsons still have a chance, so anyone with any sense would pick Parsons. I suppose yo took Ware? Lol
