Better than setting you back 30 years.

It just always amazes me how so many seem so afraid of missing on a first round QB that they don’t want to risk hitting on one.

And it’s not like other positions cant bust in the first either. Just look at Mazi last year. And in 2012 trading our 1st and 2nd for Claibourne. It was said back then that Bobby Wagner would’ve been our 2nd round pick if we hadn’t traded.
You don’t draft a QB in the first round when you have a real good productive one who’s coming off an MVP caliber season. Dak isn’t the problem. It’s our defense and the team around him.

As long as daboll is HC it doesnt matter who the qb is or who the RB is.
Jones imo is a good qb, he has had crap coaches his entire time there. the one playoff year was due mostly to jones getting them there.
The Cowboys curb stomped Jones so bad in their season opener - I believe he was toast (despite the week 2 win at ARI).

People so scared of having a losing season or 2, or even 5 are just deluded into thinking that this team is close with this QB. We are not close, we are not hanging by the rim, we are just a slightly above average team that you are all just praying gets hot at the right time and goes on a magical run. It ain't happening with this QB, the lights are too bright and he crumbles when the pressure is on.

How many years have we wasted by not doing it? My count is at 28 years.
You don’t draft a QB in the first round unless you really like them. You can’t play Eeny, meey, miny, moe with QBs and pick one every April and just hope for the best.

Of course you only pick one if you really like them. If there's nobody you like in the draft you sign a cheap vet and draft BPA and wait for next year or draft someone in later rounds and see if he's got anything special. Problem is we don't do any of that. We just give Dak free reign, no viable competition to push him. Most of the Dakolytes want Lance gone just because of what he represents...an insurance policy.

We’ve done all that. We used a 5th and a 7th on Mike White and Ben DiNucci. We signed Andy Dalton who ended up with a losing record when he got an opportunity to play. We used a 4th round pick on Trey Lance. Many fans aren’t going to be satisfied until we use a first round pick on a QB. The Cowboys have only used 3 first round picks on QBs in their entire history.

well didnt they curb stomp the giants "team" ?? or was it just jones lol.
Daboll is a idiot, hard to field a good team when HC is a idiot.

I was thinking more along the lines of first few rounds. Dalton was 6-5 and he's had a near mirror image career to Dak. Great regular season numbers...chokes in the playoffs.

Lance at least was a number 3 pick so there's talent there, hopefully McCarthy can coach him up.

Honestly I don't care what they do as long as Dak is not part of an extended future. I don't care if he throws for 6k yards and 50 tds in the regular season, he's going to choke in the playoffs. Time for fresh blood.

Is Daboll as you responded - just an idiot aka fraud "fiery motivator" - but not an X & Os coach - or the Giants' FO is not providing him an all around roster to be a bonafide playoff contender?

You can’t be serious if you think Dalton’s career was a near mirror image of Dak’s. In 9 seasons he only led Cincy to the playoffs 4 times and was 0-4. Not once did he lead the Bengals to a division title. He only passed for over 4000 yards twice and only once had 30 or more TDs. Not wasting anymore time with this.

Bottom line is he was a great regular season QB and choked in the playoffs. It's pretty similar.

Sorry, but Dalton wasn’t a “great” regular season QB. He was good but his regular season numbers and winning percentage aren’t even close to Dak’s. Go do a comparison.

How is Daboll still a HC?
Giants previousl six season before he arrived- five straight double-digit losing seasons___ 2017-21...22-59 cumulative record.
His 1st season as HC___ 9-7-1, playoff berth, wildcard road win versus.NFC North 13-4 Vikings.

Numbers stifled from playing in defense heavy AfcN. Daks are inflated from playing in NFCE against trash can defenses.

Nearly a third of Dak's TDs this year and 1200 yards came against Philly and Washington alone. 30th and 32nd ranked pass defenses in the league.

You don’t like Dak. I get it!

Just pointing out reasons why Dalton didn't quite have the numbers Dak did. The teams you face matter.
His numbers weren’t even close. He wasn’t nearly as good a QB…fact!
