So after all the hype wentz has been getting I decided to go to NFL.com and look up the stats to see just how incredible he has been.

I was shocked to see dak and wentz stats are pretty much identical aside from TD's. So why is there such a huge difference in the adulation being g heaped on wentz all over the country?

When dak has receivers tackled at the 1 yard line or drop touchdowns is he suddenly a worse player that if those players gained one extra yard? Or if wentz throws that pass to Sproles and he's pushed out of bounce and does not run 70 yards is he then not as good at first glance?

Is fantasy football and people short attention fan the reason for such lazy analysis?

Could you please use Wentz's name first in the title? Thanks.

Both guys are playing well beyond their years for a rookie... I'm lol'ing at all the people that said Goff was the most NFL ready.

That sideline pass Dak made on the run last night... That was a great play..

It's a pick your favorite flavor kind of thing, I think. Cowboys fans love Dak, and Eagles fans love Wentz. For rookies, bith guys are playing great football early.

I dont think its fantasy. Its still people just looking at the record...but people are giving dak a ton of attention too.

I thought it was funny/interesting that Dak got yet, ANOTHER roughing the passer call! 2 of them in about 100 pass attempts!

Their stats are almost identical. If I really had to guess, I would speculate that, going forward, Prescott will have a higher completion percentage, whereas Wentz will have a higher yards-per-completion rate (with a similar yards-per-attempt rate to Dak). Wentz seems to have a slightly stronger arm, whereas Dak has seemed slightly more accurate. I'm being really nit-picky, though. I'd take either as the QB of my team.

I understand dak is getting credit and praise but if you have watched NFLN or any of the ESPN shows it's probably about 2-1 in wentz favor.

I think they both look fantastic but my conclusion was the disparity has to do with touchdown numbers which I described in the OP doesn't make sense and is lazy.

I keep hoping that Wentz looks bad - just because its the Eagles, but no luck so far. It does help that Dak is doing well, but to have Wentz in the conference is annoying!

Wentz reminds me a bit of Aaron Rodger in that he has a rifle arm, good mobility, and the ability to throw strikes when on the run.

Dak reminds me of the 'current' Russell Wilson in that he is incredibly efficient in his passing, extremely strong lower body that makes it very difficulty to bring him down in the pocket, and his calmness well beyond his years.

Rodgers / Wilson happen to be the top 2 passers in the NFL history (as measured by QB rating) despite having two completely different games.

I see Dak / Wentz in the same light.

The funny thing about this post is that I wanted to make a "comparison" type post comparing Rogers to Wentz, but I couldn't think of an apt comparison to Dak. Wilson makes a lot of sense.

As mentioned they're both getting adulation but Wentz has thrown more TD's and Philly has looked much better than anyone expected at 3-0. The experts on this board were laughing at Philly for trading Bradford and going with Wentz who had only played in one preseason game. Most here thought he and Philly would struggle and so far they're the best team in the division. Pretty amazing how well Wentz has played despite battling an injury through most of preseason. You have to remember he was a top 5 pick who was receiving a lot of hype and so far looks every bit like the QB some thought he would be down the road but not this soon.
