This is what they gave up it might not be giving up the farm so to speak but they gave up a lot.

The Eagles acquired the No. 2 overall pick of the 2016 NFL Draft in a trade with the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, the Eagles announced. The Browns will receive Philadelphia's No. 8 overall pick, a third- and fourth-round selection in this draft, next year's first-round pick and a second-round pick in 2018. The Eagles also got a conditional fifth-round pick (a compensatory fourth-rounder, if available) from the Browns next season.
I agree.......5 picks to move up 6 spots is a lot..............they got some back for Bradford but that could end up being a late 1st at this rate.....lol

If Wentz is every bit as good as he looks for the next 12 years then the Eagles did just fine. Franchise QB's are very rare.

If I'm jealous of Philly, I'm jealous of their offensive coaches and defensive personnel.
I think you're overrating their offensive coaches. A lot of that has to do with Carson Wentz calling his own plays like Peyton Manning did pre-snap. I don't think they would look quite as impressive with a quarterback that simply executes the play the coaches call.

No reason to be jealous. I'm sure the Beagles are jealous of our offensive line, receivers, tight ends, and running backs. They don't have anywhere near the talent we do on offense.

Carson Wentz is 1st rookie QB in NFL history to throw 100 passes without an interception.

Guess who's going to be #2 rookie to do that in NFL history if his 100th pass isn't intercepted?

Dak has a better running game behind him, so it makes sense he's not having to throw as much as Wentz.
I don't get how these 2 quarterbacks are succeeding to the extent they are. It's really uncharted territory, and something we just don't see. I gotta hand it to Carson Wentz for doing it with the supporting cast he has around him, and Dak doing it in spite of our coaches playcalling

3 fewer throws better completion percentage more yards per attempt. He needs to throw less because hes more effective.

yes, but also Doug Peterson is an Andy Reid type so there's going to be a lot of shorter passes by design.

It's a pick your favorite flavor kind of thing, I think. Cowboys fans love Dak, and Eagles fans love Wentz. For rookies, bith guys are playing great football early.
And Giants fans will hate both down the road. Both look like the real deal and both will be a nightmare for Giants for years to come. I am already pushing 40. Time for me to get new hobbies. The next 15 year not looking so bright :(

Wentz is a good player but he has some really good offensive coaches and calls plays they design, plays that get a bunch of mediocre receivers open and use misdirection to enhance the running game. It's Andy Reid's playbook, which is decidedly quarterback friendly.

I've just watch Wentz's highlights from the past two games and is really good. I have a few thougths, tough.

1. This has no bearing on their performance but Dak is much smoother in his actions. Wentz reminds me a bit of a gangly teenager who's limbs grew faster than his sense of balance. He has a bit of a hitch when the runs and throws. Again, no bearing on their performance but it is a difference.

2. Wentz has a nice touch on his deep throw ... sometimes. I've heard some say Wentz is better throwing deep but I've seen him miss a few and we've yet to see Dak really let it go. He may be better but we need more evidence.

3. Wentz will throw into coverage and take more chances than what we've seen of Dak. He's more of a gunslinger trusting his arm strength to fire it in there. He hasn't been picked off yet but he's not a selective as we've seen Dak so far.

That's about it for my 15 minutes of scouting. I would be very excited to have either of these quarterbacks.

Because Wentz was the #2 pick and was covered tons by ESPN for a long time leading to the draft, who controls tons of the narrative you see in the media.

The bandwagon in Dallas can always use another fan. Think how much fun it'd be unting your family under one team...:)

Yeah. My son is getting his Dak jersey this Christmas.:)

The best gift for a son on Christmas might be his father coming over to his side to root for the Cowboys with him. Just think of all the memories you two could share in your Dak jersies....

Almost a perfect game......only 5 misses.......2 to Dez after the fumble.......one high to TWill...one on the deep ball to Butler that should have been PI
The non PI call ticked me off. Should have been 6 or first and goal.

I like Dak's arm strength and accuracy on his deep throws. If he can consistently stretch the defense teams won't be able to stack the box as much. Then Zeke will have room to rumble.
