I have watched Wentz twice...and he is the real deal. Higher draft picks just get the benefit of the doubt.

Wentz reminds me a bit of Aaron Rodger in that he has a rifle arm, good mobility, and the ability to throw strikes when on the run.

Dak reminds me of the 'current' Russell Wilson in that he is incredibly efficient in his passing, extremely strong lower body that makes it very difficulty to bring him down in the pocket, and his calmness well beyond his years.

Rodgers / Wilson happen to be the top 2 passers in the NFL history (as measured by QB rating) despite having two completely different games.

I see Dak / Wentz in the same light.

I really don't see a comparison between Wilson and Dak actually. Dak stays in the pocket much more than Wilson. I don't think Dak reminds me of anybody. He seems to have his own style.

I believe the Rams had Goff and Wentz pretty close and chose Goff based on the California connection. Looks like a decade killing mistake right now.

Yeah, but the Eagles took the pedal off the gas in the fourth yesterday.

So after all the hype wentz has been getting I decided to go to NFL.com and look up the stats to see just how incredible he has been.

I was shocked to see dak and wentz stats are pretty much identical aside from TD's. So why is there such a huge difference in the adulation being g heaped on wentz all over the country?

When dak has receivers tackled at the 1 yard line or drop touchdowns is he suddenly a worse player that if those players gained one extra yard? Or if wentz throws that pass to Sproles and he's pushed out of bounce and does not run 70 yards is he then not as good at first glance?

Is fantasy football and people short attention fan the reason for such lazy analysis?

I think you're making up an issue.

The press on Dak had overwhelmingly been positive.

Great post. Dak's running ability is already pumping our rushing game.

Our excitement over Dak doesn't limit what Wentz has done. He's instilled a ton of confidence in philly right now. They're BOTH playing lights out. I'm equally impressed with both. Our claim right now might be that we received a much greater value.

If I'm jealous of Philly, I'm jealous of their offensive coaches and defensive personnel.

They both look like the real deal, but where Dallas will eternally be able to boast bragging rights is that Philly gift wrapped the comp pick for Dak by signing Murray last off-season.

Thanks Eagles!

Was unaware there were other threads about their stats being identical while being an imbalance in the amount of praise each are getting.

I understand dak is getting credit and praise but if you have watched NFLN or any of the ESPN shows it's probably about 2-1 in wentz favor.

I think they both look fantastic but my conclusion was the disparity has to do with touchdown numbers which I described in the OP doesn't make sense and is lazy.

i didn't get to watch this week's pregames but maybe that is because dak has been getting more hype since preseason so they want to give some more light to wentz?

both are spectacular considering....wentz has looked really really good for a small school kid and dak for being drafted in the mid rounds and playing spread ball and adjusting to under center.

For now, Wentz's ball placement/accuracy looks more refined while Dak presents a more physical run presence. They both are reading defenses well and keep their head. They both throw well on the run. They both will be getting much better in the coming years if Wentz doesn't get himself killed trying to be a runner.

the titans should parade out all their picks from the trade as captains like fisher did to the skins....

It really doesn't matter which QB is better it cost Philly the farm to trade up for Wentz at #2 overall and we got Dak in the 4th round. Their play has been pretty comparable and we got Dak at a much better value. We were just looking for a backup and ended up with a QB who may end up being our future at the position.

I think it's because Pittsburgh was supposed to be a real test and the Bears are all banged up, so mostly the quality of the competition and more TD when just looking at stats. The other thing is that there was no preseason for Wentz really, so it caught more people off guard and then I think the last factor is that Romo looms in the background, so Dak is seen more as a star of the future, that has to be put on hold at some point, but Wentz is the future and the now.
