He seems have it.
Plus, he has maybe the league's best oline and running back as a huge advantage over the other young guys out there.
I like his odds.

Oh, and one more thing to scare you all. All 32 teams have 17 game films in disks all ready to figure him out and just think, 2 of those games
were against the Gints which beat us both times. A nightmare comes to you all.
"game film? what's that?"

Big shoes to fill? Tony has won 2 playoff games in his entire career
If he played defense (and/or oline for most of his career) that would have true meaning.
Instead, you and I both know how silly that was.

Anyway, Dak will be fine

Yes..Yes and come to think.. Some team will have Tony Romo all ready to clean our clocks with the defense we send out there.
Shaping up nicely for us to get the #1 pick in the next draft.

Even if he is a one year wonder (which he isn't), why does it matter?

This team has had one winning season with Romo since 2009. He is 37, he has been injured in 3 out of his last 4 games and he hasn't played a full season since 2012.

I was a huge Romo supporter for years but Tony Romo is not the future of this team. Best case scenario, he wins some football games but you are walking on injuries knowing he is on borrowed time.

Tony Romo does not give this team the best chance to win a Super Bowl because he has not proven he can stay on the football field.

If Romo was only in his early or mid 30s, I could understand some of the panic around here but he is almost 37. 37 years old for a quarterback who has a long history of injuries and taking big hits is ancient.

You're screwed if any QB is a 1-year wonder or if any QB dramatically drops in production in a year.

I hate to tell people this, but the team had to move on because expecting a 37-year old QB with a very bad back to be the bastion of consistency is extremely optimistic.

And the fact is that in 2016 in his rookie year, Dak had a better QBR than Romo ever had in a season. Why we think Romo would automatically have played better than Dak in 2016 if he was healthy is beyond me. Oh that's right...he played 1 series against the Eagles in a meaningless game and we scored a TD. With a sample size that big, who needs to play a full season?

Never would have imagined the amount of butt hurt over a QB that accomplished so little when a new, young QB looks to be more than an ample replacement.

Big shoes to fill is coming behind Roger Staubach and Troy Aikman. Do not get me wrong #9 will always be a Dallas Cowboy but those are legendary shadows to follow behind.

I don't think he'll be a 1-year-wonder, but I fully expect an 8-8 season next year. Our defense isn't going to get turned around in one offseason, and Garrett isn't capable of 2 winning seasons in a row.

Go back and look at your predictions for last season. Let's face, it you suck at this.

Even if he turns out to be a flash in the pan, I don't see what Romo has to do with it.

This "five more years" thing is really just a concept in Jerry Jones' mind.

If he is, we are totally screwed now. He has big shoes to fill, lets all hope he succeeds.

I don't think he will be. Dak was not pulling the ball down and running much, he was making his reads and finding the open man. When put in situations where Dallas did fall behind and forced to throw he showed he could get it done moving the team and putting the ball in the endzone. He still has things to learn but seems more than willing to put the time and effort in to learning.

He is and everyone who DEMANDED we trade Romo will be calling for JJ's head next season.

That's how Cowboy's fandom go!

Some will call for Jerry head no matter what. As for me if we were talking 1 year remaining on Romo deal I would be all in favor of keeping him for this upcoming season, but fact is he has 3 years remaining on his contract with a base of 14, 19.5 and 20 mill. I would love a trade but people need to see trades from both sides and fact is no one is going to give up a lot for a 37 year old QB with back issues and who has been missing a lot of time in the last 2 years. I hope the best for Romo but in my eyes Dallas is doing the right thing by not putting loyalty of 1 player over the welfare of the future of this franchise. I say this as a fan who has loved having Tony in Dallas

We should have kept him for one more year. Cutting him frees up what? $5M with $19.4M in dead money? Now you have to spend part of that $5M saved on getting a backup QB. So you save what? $2.5M with $19.4M in dead money. You cut him next year, you save something like $17M with only $8M in dead money.

Cutting him this year was dumb.

I disagree. I believe 100% in Dak I don't think he is a fluke I think the kid is for real and would just as soon have the money to pay core players who the Cowboys would like to keep here for a while. I love Tony but given simple hits knocking him out of the game I'm to the point of cutting bait and moving on.
