Dak Better Not Be A One Year Wonder

there's always a chance a player will be a one year wonder, but in terms of probability, Dak's odds of being a one year wonder are lower than average. The Cowboys run a basic offense. There is nothing he's been doing that hasn't been done for the past 50 years.

More pressure? How will he have more pressure now that this is his team, than when he had the longtime franchise QB right behind him, and every game was potentially his job?

Nobody expected it, now everybody does = more pressure.
Not a knock on Dak btw, love him, just don't think it will be as easy as it seemed last season.

If Dak doesn't get in a car wreck where he gets serious brain damage, he'll be fine.

Even if somehow Dak forgot how to play Romo is at the tail end of his career. He's not exactly Tom Brady he's been hurt like the last 4 hits he's taken IIRC. The one year wonders were low IQ QBs Dak is a high IQ QB. Have some faith and be happy we have him. Doesn't guarantee a Super Bowl, but we never got close to one with Romo ever. Nothing's guaranteed.

Dak has been consistently good at every level of football he has played in. The fact that he is super smart and talented, suggests he will be a super star. He is nothing like the past one year wonders.

What's the alternative? Expecting 37 year old Romo to carry the load another 2-3 years until we stumble upon another rookie QB that can play well enough to give us 13 wins in our predictable offensive system? Might be another decade or two with that outlook.

Bottom line: the very short window we had left with Romo got slammed shut by the emerging Dak. It's not like Romo was mid-stride of his career. Romo withdrawals seem to be a real thing around here.

Sophomore slump is a real possibility. He's gonna throw more than 4 picks, that's for sure. He got lucky last year. But I feel good about him being our guy. He's only 24 and the sky is the limit.
