It’s a 13 year old Taylor Swift fans term now being used by “ grown men” too…….

It’s now misused to disarm and silence anyone who has even the most minor criticism of someone or something. It is used personalize a non-personal feeling.
I think it’s far older than 13 years?? Or you’re saying it is something these Swift have adopted? It’s possible.

In any case I think you’re reading too much into it. Just means the person is unjustly upset by something and that they need to chill out (not to be taken literally either)

Im sure that it goes back to the 90s and used only in rare instances as a cliche. Such as “playa haters” etc

However it is as over used as the word “ amazing” was. Once again most highly used by pubescent teenage girls to describe even the most benign things as “ amazing”

I guess everybody's experience with things are different . For instance I work with predominantly grown men and don’t ever hear the term “ hater “ used in any situation. As for the internet the ONLY asocial media group that I am a member of is the CZ……and it’s the only time I encounter it .

I tend to resist what the latest fads are.

I don't care if he has a great regular season. He ABSOLUTLEY needs to NOT have a catastrophic LAST GAME. He alone has killed our seasons with his personal play in the last game. Eli had a knack of NOT imploding in the plaoffs. Not so much for Dak. Implosion imminent.

If some people cannot stop over criticizing Prescott during the moment when his ankle is twisting on swivel and getting carted off the field at the same time, nothing will.

Eli Manning was also blessed with a tad bit of luck during the playoffs too. Just ask David Tyree.

I know i laugh at the posters who come here and say "No one hates Dak" CLEARLY there are some here that do... to say some dont post it daily is just BS. We know the ones who are here just to carry that flag..
A handful of vocal posters’ priorities SEEM to be….
1)Dak failing miserably in the playoffs.
2)Dallas loses so they can blame Dak.
3)Dallas wins with backups.

I don't believe the OP's premise that people will change their opinions of Dak if he has a good regular season and play-offs.

I also do not believe, if Dak and the Cowboys were to win the Super Bowl, that any of the hard core Dak-tractors would alter their thinking.

Fact is, if it were down to one minute and eleven seconds with one time out, and Dak drove the team 93 yards and a score to win it all, the prevalent opinion espoused here would be the defense won it and Dak was merely a bus driver, and an incompetent bus driver at that.

People don't routinely change sides during these Hatfield and McCoy fueds.

I've never seen a single Cowboy fan here on CZ hate on Dak. I have seen some be critical of his play. There's a huge difference. Stop labeling criticism as "hate." The two are very different things. Dak made awful decisions that cost his team the game the last two times he's played the 49ers in the playoffs (not that he was the only one who played poorly). Anyone who is saying, "Well, I love him, so I'm not going to criticize anything he did" is being ridiculous.
....
So, to answer your question, no, it won't silence any haters because there isn't anyone here who hates him. Those who have criticized his poor play will be like, "This is awesome! He's playing great now."

I understand, but it’s used often and I urge you to consider trying not to let bother you to the point that you feel you need to correct the behavior.

It’s you spurely harmless internet banter.

Remember the sticks and stones saying from your day and don’t be a hater.

He could be SB MVP and leading passer for the season and there will still be those who want someone else.

There will be posts like:

"Now that he is SB MVP, what can we get for him in a trade."

"Any other QB would have won a SB years ago"

"It was the defense and their takeaways that carried this team, Dak was simply the recipient of great field position."

I've noticed that if there was a choice between being right on a criticism and the Cowboys disprove it by winning, some posters would prefer the Cowboys to lose just so they can be right.

Oh, I get that. But you may have noticed that me and @MountaineerCowboy may disagree with folks but we NEVER insult other posters. We merely voice an opinion and move on.

Thats not my MO. Because I don’t take things personally…….just observe and report

and I should know…..Mountaineer is my burner account:muttley:

dak could throw interceptions the whole game and not score a point and there would be defenders saying, "dak didn't have anybody to throw to so he threw it to the opposing team", "The offensive line didn't hold the line for 5 minutes like all the rest of the NFL quarterbacks get"
