Its not even that. Its the offense. You can't run a respectable offense with no run game. McCarthy knew this. He went into this season wanting to emphasize the run. But then the run game sucked and it was back to what we do.
But that goes back to the mentality of the FO and the organization as a whole. They kept asking Jerry on the radio what gives him 'hope' about this specific team, he kept mentioning Dak, Dak, Dak. They thought he could carry the team to the promise land and mask any warts we had elsewhere. They thought wrong.

Seriously.
one thing I'd like to see, now that for many the bloom is finally off the talent rose with Dak, is for everyone to stop feeling compelled to talk about what a "great guy" he is when criticizing his play.

First of all, you're right, his character cred is vastly overrated. He's me first, all about Dak and he's always going to be all about Dak.

But secondly, who cares? We're talking about his play and whether he's the right guy to lead this franchise to the highest levels of success.
Can he get the job done or not? Because he's paid to lead this team to victories in the biggest moments. That's his job. Literally.

Playmaker was a complete jerk. Playmaker was an embarrassment off the field, to this franchise and to his family and to humanity in general. I have no problem admitting that.
But when it's time to win a ball game, there's literally no one else I want at WR1 for the Cowboys in our franchise history. Period. The man was about winning and he had the talent and the mentality to get it done and to elevate others around him to do the same.

There is not a single person on this forum outside of maybe AC that would say this about Dak.
At that point, I don't care if he's a "good guy" or not. He needs to be shown the door. Period.
I really feel for you guys when he isnt shown the door. This is Jerry here you think hes going to pull the plug on dak? He will be here next year without a doubt and I dont care if he is or isnt but this jerry have you not learned anything? He is loyal to a fault to his players and coaches kept Witten too long,Romo too long,Garrett to long and hell keep dak too long especially cause Dak has a difficult contract. And dak will keep us competitive and fail again but hes not the only culprit.

He doesnt fail alone

He is as dumb as he looks.....that is basic zone defense. Give you a pre-snap look and then go into another. Any third string QB would know that too.. he has no clue reading defenses. If his primary receiver is covered...game over. And he says when they got it going, LOL....that is when GB went prevent and up by 30, and were GIVING him those yards. Amazing.

The guy you want to hitch your $60m wagon up with folks. and in his 8th season..LOL....
And the Packers had put in their back-ups by that point! It would be funny if it wasn't so pathetic and embarrassing.

I dont hate the guy for being out there trying and making a boatload.

He frustrates me, however, because hes being dumb and wont take a lesser contract so the team can make up for the holes in his play. If you dont have it mentally, fine, I get it, you cant make your brain operate faster....so work with the team to provide resources.

Otherwise, youre putting your wallet in front of the team and thats when Id rather you just be gone.

Damn nuts talking about the damn Texans who beat a trash Browns team....I don't care what they did to beat them. Then was gloating about Baker beating Philly. ***. Tampa Bay and Texans is not who we should be striving to be.
they will use every metric they can to discredit the player they cant stand and thats dak. And ya most of them spent the entire offseason discrediting that very same tampa team that we beat last year. They are not drastically improved with baker

Yes, this is true but this is on MM as well........hell, even Strahan mentioned during the pregame the Packers would likely try and take Lamb out. I'm sure most teams tried to do the same thing during the season but couldn't, so give the Packers plenty of credit. The troubling thing for me is Dak got raddled and MM failed to adjust.

Now see that I won't do. I'll knock his play on the field but I won't knock him for taking less. There was plenty of money over the years to build personnel and they wasted it on great players like Jaylon Smith, La'El Collins, Zeke Elliott, Terrence Steele, etc.....so no i'm not gonna use that excuse.

That's what Joe Barry does. He takes away your best weapon. But it doesn't matter with most offenses. You attack their weaknesses. This team didn't. They didn't even try to utilize speed underneath. Just kept trying the same thing over and over again. Embarrassingly.

The best bet to steal a chip with Dak was early in his career when he had a better oline, better running game, and the book was not fully out on him.

If you're going to keep Dak, then you have to build an offense similar to what we had w/ Harbaugh. Putting everything on this mentally fragile QB's shoulders is getting us nowhere.
Problem is you can't do that and pay Dak like a top end QB unless you strike gold on a bunch of draft picks all at once. Corners have to be cut to pay him the elite level bag that he wants. Problem with Dak is, he's good enough to keep us from getting high draft picks, but not good enough to take this team anywhere without those picks.

Once we got it going? This guy is certifiably insane. They were going to beat us by 90 points. Green Bay was kind enough to basically stop playing and ding dong takes advantage of their kindness by greedily slurping up all those meaningless yards. If I was Green Bay I would have been so annoyed. They should have kept the foot on the gas and given us the worst beating in the history of football. Embarrassing.

C'mon Dak, what made you think, they were going to make it easy for you?

MM and him should have known this. Its not rocket science.

If im a coach you think of infinite ways of them trying to beat you, and prepare.

I actually think Dallas knows Dak’s flaws and this was made clear by Jerry after they lost to the 49ers in the playoffs when he said rosters like this are hard to refill and the time is short. Micah threw shade at Dak last season as well. The FO actually thought Dak could win with this roster and not have to carry them, which is why they went conservative with the offense to begin the year. Opposing defenses last year said he couldn’t throw against zone. Then you now have comments about how he panics after his first read.
