#1 - Snoop Dogg is a Cowboys fan and has been in the public eye for decades, its not like Dak and Zeke joined the Manson Family or something.

Also I totally disagree with the comparison of TMZ to Gawker. Gawker was complete slime that would harm people for sport and for clicks. They outed Peter Thiel for a few extra clicks and that's why he funded the lawsuit against them. BTW - Peter Thiel didn't destroy Gawker, a Judge and Jury did when they found them guilty of crimes. In the trial the head of Gawker said that he would publish child porn for money unless the victim was "under 4". He said this in Open Court, so imagine what he does in his office.

TMZ is only publishing what is out there in public, they don't break any laws and most of what they publish is found on other websites as well. They also have broken news at times when other parts of the media wouldn't do so because of political bias, like parts of the (first) Anthony Weiner scandal.

Another point is that while some Paparazzi are scum, at least half of the published paparazzi photos were staged by an agent telling them where to be and when.

TMZ isn't the villain, Harvey was just smart enough to get ahead of the Social Media/User Generated Content train. He is also printing money because he runs the business is a very smart way, but that's another post.

I addressed how TMZ helps celebs gain exposure in an earlier post, so I agree with you there, Kaiser.

As TMZ pertains to sports, is my arguement, Kaiser. When it comes to sports, TMZ is a Gawker of sorts, just a pictorial version, imo.

Those are extremely low thresholds that would not get a person high, Bkight. But point made. I was arguing secondhand smoke and how it could get someone high in a concert venue.

Also, the "second hand smoke got me high" is the oldest trick in the book :)
Depends if you went back stage to the "Green" room....lol

Fans' opinions (like mine) carry zero weight but the league office's opinion does. And what we consider as not breaking any rules might be interpreted differently by Goodell and Co. That's what I don't like about the TMZ's of the world. It will not happen in this case but they may provide motivation for the league office to act on things they wouldn't normally simply because there wouldn't be video involved of something that the league office believes would "hurt the shield."

Snoop is not a Cowboys fan. At any given moment, he's a Stealer fan. a niners fan, and somebody else. But he's never been on the record as a Cowboys fan.

Hasn't he come to training camp in Oxnard? Or am I misremembering that?

Mehh, when Athletes aren't considered celebrities anymore the problem will go away. I just disagree with the comparison, you may not like Harvey but he is an ethical guy, especially on First Amendment issues. The people at Gawker were pure scum that had absolutely no morals.

I actually like Harvin. He's built a media empire, off his exposure from the OJ trial and the People's Court. A hard worker, and by all accounts a good boss and person. Also a very, very likable personality.

I'm just salty that his dealio has entered our sports world, and everyone in sports media is eating it up. And the majority of his content as it pertains to sports is exploitive. (Hence my comparison to Gawker, a purely exploitive media entity).

Also, athletes are more and more becoming celebrities, so I suppose I should just accept it...

Don't recall him ever coming to camp, but that's not to say he never has. What I do know is that he's for sure has been a Stealer fan. And my bad, he's a Raiders fan, not a Niner fan.

He has been very smart about how he built TMZ, people don't realize it but Mike, the news director that always wear a black shirt, and the COO type with dreads are the only ones getting paid anything. The rest are intern types chasing the dream and Harvey keeps the money.

When they were still on Sunset a lot of those guys went to my gym, the news director Mike is a great guy. The funny thing is that he is totally conservative politically and Harvey is one of those guys that will "disagree with every word you say but fight to the death for your right to say it". Harvey would totally back his right to express his opinions, which isn't very common in the Entertainment Industry.
